Good morning!!!!

Living in Vermont, I've never had a tractor (even when living in PA) without a block heater. Is it always necessary? No, but it's so much easier on the engine...

When I bought my present tractor, a Kubota L6060, the dealer said that they didn’t offer a block heater, which I don’t really believe, but I keep it in a heated shop, so it’s not really an issue. But I would not have something outside or in unseated space in the winter here and expect it to start reliably.

Had the old MF 203 for over 30 years and it has served me really well over the years. It does not like cold starts and needs to use the engine heater to start. If you look at the picture you can see brown paint on the front end loader arms that is where it broke and I had to weld the arms back together. Also it does not brake very well but I never bothered to fix it (brakes inside the axles is a PITA) so
had to carefull to be in the right gear going downhills or use the bucket to stop by dragging on the ground

Well, I got my post plucked because I explained the reasons for fuel being high....and a warning.

I'm starting to feel like my good friend Ron.
So was mine...a reply to your post...
Figured it would happen, so no ill will toward TBN or the Mods

Understandable :(
The little bell notice said "Your post in the Good morning thread was moved to another thread".

I looked around and couldn't find it.

I guess the dumpster thread.

Drew, sorry for your woes at your meeting. I have to ask some questions, you don't have to answer.

Does the man need help? Does he have the time? Does he have the equipment? Are there things in his life that take him elsewhere? Does he get paid? Can someone else be hired to do it? Does the cemetery need more money for perpetual care?

I just hope you can look back on this, hold your head up high and be esteemed by your fellow patrons as a solver/helper and not something else.

Consider your gifting of the tractor as a gift, where your left hand doesn't know what the right hand was doing. Yes, humans were involved and we all fall from grace. I hope you can find peace.

Morning all, 46 going up to 61.
Bonfire last night was fun, about 100 people or so from the neighborhood.

Had a band and stage, big BBQ/catered setup, kegs, and fire of course.
Met some new neighbors and some old ones.
House was built in the 1700's and is now up to 6000sq ft. with adjoining uncles house which was even larger on shared 27 acres. Amazing setup.

Got microwave installed, lots of measuring and drilling, and in the end it went in right the first time.

Drew - sorry to hear about your friend, lost many friends and relatives to cancer and my dad's high school friend and Aunt are both fighting cancer now and seem to be doing ok for the short term.
All are in their 80's now but enjoying the days they have.

Wngsprd - looks like a lot of fun, love those type of festivals with mixed music and some new to me types.

Today is lawn aerating and cutting. Found a 30 foot long maple branch in the lower field, so will need to cut that up.

A few bucks short of a herd? Anyone else ever had 4 bucks in one place before and not yearlings?

Well, I got my post plucked

It's a waste of time. Everybody's mind is already made up. Better to stick to tractor stuff or what ever it is we talk about here. (y)

Good morning! 48 now on the way to 64 or so. Lots of sunshine.

Was 30 when we got up this morning. Yard was white with frost.

Probably going to get the new deck for the little trailer painted today. Need to drill the holes first. If time permits, may start painting the frame as well.

Kyle - behave. :ROFLMAO:

Everyone stay safe out there….

53F and sunny @ 10:45, heading up to a high of around 63F for the day.

LWS reports the low temp this morning hit 36.3F at around 07:00. Found that kind of surprising, given that when I checked the temp late last night it had risen a couple of degrees over what it had been earlier (wind had shifted around from the north to the southwest)

No idea whether we had any frost this morning.

Nice quiet morning here at the moment - no mowers, blowers, or gunshots ... just a woodpecker occasionally hammering away on the siding ... :giggle:

Items on agenda for today:

First thing will be to move the small pile of screenings to the back side of the barn into the sun so they can dry out further.

After that move the screener itself.

Follow that with some grading and compaction in the area the stuff was removed from.

Once I get that done I'll start moving things out of the barn. Low chances of rain through Wednesday until about 20:00.

Basic idea is to get it cleared out enough so that I can set up the laser level and mark final interior floor grade on all the posts and maybe get a check in various spots to see how much fill is needed. Not sure how easy that will be, have never used this particular unit and I don't have a manual for it ... hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.

Probably see about getting the water line connected as well, as the dirt inside the barn needs hosed down as it is so dusty.

Maybe get the temp electric hooked up as well.

Beyond that whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday ... (y)

34°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 72° today. No frost here yet.

Need to clean the chicken coop today. Going to wait until it warms a bit more, though. Also need to fix a flat on the wheel barrow.

Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in The Great Colorful North.

Some fantastic Fall pictures here today.

Sorry to read about your Meeting woes, Drew. Sounds like you've handled it as best as possible without being mean about it. Sometimes, it's just best to move on. They will eventually get their house back in order. Perhaps you'll even get to return while still under your own power. You've left them with guidance. Now, it's up to them.

Good morning, gents.

69°F and no rain

Yesterday was another day of coming up short vs what I thought I might get done. Seems to be a recurring pattern. That said I am pleased with what I did get done. Progress, albeit slow is still progress.

Watch some football this morning, then I may get back to my project.

Still find it amazing that FedEx says it will be delivering my Starlink today. Expect to get a text or email saying not today, being Sunday.
If it does get delivered and early enough I will most likely swap out the current RV system for the Residential as it installs same location.

Prayers for all, especially the hurting wives, partners, and friends
Be safe
Have a great day
