The sideshow problem can easily be solved. Tell lawyahoos to take a hike,once weekly open race tracks to any and everything (pending official's inspection) everyone entering gate sign's waiver of liability.
In the 50s- 60s there were dragstrips open to anyone wanting to pull a car to the line. The three I most remember was Yellow Belly between Dallas and Ft Worth,The Circle North outskirt of Dallas and Caddo Mills between Dallas and Greenville. A pro caliber strip called Green Valley opened near Grapevine not far from present day DFW Airport,6 Flags,Ranger Stadium and hotbed of entertainments. It was at Green Valley I witnessed what might be considered racing history. The main event was to be a 5-in-a-row showdown between Factor Stock Chevy,Pontiac,Mopar,Studebaker and Ford. The Mopar entry was disqulified and a local amateur by the name of Gene Snow was recruited to fill the spot with his new Hemi Mopar. Snow cleaned their plow 3 out of 3 and went on to a career in pro racing. After a legendary racing career Snow left beneath a black cloud of shame.
Anyho,young people will let off steam so it's better done with some origination than on the street.

Tracks and drive-ins closed years ago...

Why seek out a track with rules when main street is your drag strip...

Most of the cars I see are late model high HP Chrysler products...with some mustangs and similar in the mix...

Nope, in Michigan we get some street racing for sure, but never a crowd of 200 idiots dancing around circular burnouts.

Looks like LAPD is ready to end this issue for good though.

In my neighborhood we sometimes get cattle drives taking over the road in front of my house. Reading stories like this I am so glad humans prefer to huddle together in cities no matter how horrible conditions get.

When the clinic was looted the same night as the new car dealers, pharmacies, target, Home Depot, Beauty Supplies, etc... it was just like that...

All I could do was turn out the lights and leave... 1 person against dozens and police said stop calling 911... not coming, not safe for officers.
