Tractor
Several, all used and abused.
About a year ago I started getting serious about buying a tractor with AC. I started out looking at used tractors big enough to pull a 15 foot batwing. I might have looked at every single brand out there, I went to quite a few places with plenty of used tractors to look at. While I was looking, the prices for those used tractors began to go up, and then really go up! I took a step back and reconsidered what I really needed, and what I was willing to spend. A thread on here about he Massey 4707 caught my eye and I started reading up on it.

The more I read about it, the more I liked it. A local dealer had one in stock, but I know three people who told me that I would regret buying from him. I know them well enough to listen to their advice. During this time I was also watching YouTube videos on the 4707 and the other 4700 models. Nick Pomeroy of PR Equipment | Kerens, TX | Agricultural Equipment Dealer has some good videos, and he's an hour away from me. He's building a bigger, nicer shop and putting a lot of money into his dealership. He's very motivated to be the best dealer around and in my opinion, doing a good job of accomplishing this.

Back in November, Massey was offering a zero percent interest on financing the tractor with zero down and 84 months to pay for it. We agreed to a price of $55,348 with $662 a month for payments. 7 months later, it is now at my place. When I signed the paper for it back in November, I knew it would be awhile. I also thought that the price would increase and if I didn't do it then, I would miss out on a price and financing that I would regret.

One of the benefits to waiting so long is that I ended up getting a 2022 model for a 2021 price. For this year, Massey put a new AC system and roof on their 4700 tractors. Nick told me that before he delivers the tractor, he would modify the AC system to make it better. There are some posts on FB about the AC not being as good as it could. After driving it around for a little bit yesterday, I can say that the new AC system is amazing!!! 101 was the high temp for the day, and I was very comfortable inside the cab. I started out with the fan on 2, and then turned it down to 1. When my wife got home, I turned it back up to 2 so she could see how cold it was inside the cab when we went for a drive. She said that the buddy seat was very comfortable!!!

The Massey Ferguson 4707 4x4 Deluxe has 70 HP and it is fully loaded. I have a radio, air ride seat, sun screen, wipers, 3 mirrors, 10 AC vents, 2 remotes, fender controls on both sides to raise and lower the 3 point arms, telescopic Category 2 lift arms, 540 and 540E PTO. It does not have DEF, and it does not REGEN. I honestly never thought a tractor could be so nice, or comfortable!!!

Welcome to owning a Massey. While I use my 1736 for mostly blowing snow from our 1,300' long driveway with its front blower it has been trouble free ever since it arrived 7 almost years ago.

I'm sure you will enjoy your 4707.

Congrats Eddie! Nice machine! Does this replace a rig or add to the fleet?

Eddie,

Congrats on your new MF, if I had your new tractor I'd be taking it on this summers vacation.

I like the lights on the cab. I had to install lights on the ROPS bar because the bucket kept blocking the headlights on my Kubota. Is there an implement light on the business end of that tractor too?

I'm glad you took pictures. It will never be that pretty again. :)

Looks great! Congrats Eddie! This has been a long time coming.

Nice to see a proper R1 Radial tire on that unit.

Adds to it. I've been bush hogging with an open station 37hp Century tractor since 2003. That will be now used for post hole digging until I'm done with my fencing. Probably a 5 year project.

I haven't used the lights yet, but I'm looking forward to having them when the days get short again. I've read that other people have replaced the factory lights with LED's, but I'm going to wait and see how well they work before changing anything.

There are two lights on the back of the cab. Two on top of the cab, one on either side of the loader, and then on the front of the grill. To me, it seems like a lot of lighting!!!

I circled them in white.

My first surprise and questions I never thought to ask. Category 1 pins on my 6 foot rotary cutter are a lot smaller then the Category 2 lift arms and top link. I went to Tractor Supply after work and picked up some adapters. Then last night I opened up my folder with all my manuals and found that a set of adapters where in there already. Guess I have a spare set now!! :)

Nick, my dealer, showed my how the switch for the PTO works when he delivered it. I watched a video on YouTube last night to make sure I understood, and then I read the manual. I hope to get off work early enough today to hook up the mower and cut some brush.

Congratulations Eddie! I know you will enjoy the A/C here. I still would like to have my windows tinted to help in the sun but I have not decided on the type of tint. I have been leaning towards ceramic tint.

Please post what you decide on and who you use. I was leaning towards having them tinted before I got it, but in my very limited use of the tractor, I'm so impressed with the AC, that I'm not sure if there is a need for it or not.
