So, I have been looking at/wanting to get one of these weed-eaters. Is anyone on here using the FSA pro weed-eaters? Is it worths the money with the backpack battery? How is the power? I would be using on 3 acres. The biggest thing stopping me is the initial coast for backpack and weed-eater and wondering if it will be as good as my gas one?. The dealer says they are just as strong.

Yes. I am not exactly sure on the difference but the battery weed-eater is lighter. The backpack has a little weight to it but I doing think that would bother me as bad as leaning over a little while weed-eating with the gas one.

Sorry for my spelling. I am not sure why the words change on me sometimes. I have to go back and reread what I typed a bunch of times.🤪

So you too have a dyselix keyboard!

If you are not already invested in a battery system go for it. I'm heavily invested in the DeWalt 20V/Flexvolt line and went with their DCST970B a few years ago.
But I've only read good about the Stihl line.

I have the Milwaukee M18 weedeater so it is not the same thing. I'm sure they are close together on the power side of things. I have found that my Milwaukee is more powerful than my gas one.

i got the Dewalt one a few years ago too. Very strong; like it better than the gas ones. Battery seems to last about 45 minutes. Bought extra batteries to have extras ready to go.

I'm sorry, but for this type of equipment, "Professional" and "Battery" seem to be incompatible in my opinion ... more power in a gas machine. Corded machines are also out. :).

I could be wrong, but I'm sticking with a real engine

They are probably very great machines, but are they the go-tos for Professionals ? That's my thought

I hear ya. That is my thinking too but it is changing as technology gets better. I don't do anything on the professional level. LOL I just like buying professional equipment and spending money😆

WVH1977 - we be thinking alike :)

buying quality is worth it. I may need to start looking at battery stuff ... my next purchase is probably a Milwaukee drill / driver combo set, to replace the old / weak / cheap set

Last year I got the battery operated combi-head to replace my gas powered head. I get between 45 and 115 minutes per charge on the battery using the weedeater, pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments. I liked it so much I bought the electric chainsaw. I have no regrets and don't want to use the gas powered equipment any more.

The batteries are expensive but warrantied for 3 years. The run times are comparable to using the gas models. If you use the power tools regularly then its like buying 3 years of gas up front and you reduce vibration, noise, weight, eliminating pull starts and stinky 2-stroke exhaust.

Recharge time is about 45 minutes. If you have 2 batteries you can run continuously with small breaks to swap batteries. Works good for me.

Only need to add that the ban list for gas keeps expanding...

Trimmers and Blowers with gas engine already banned at some of my acreage locations with enforcement starting with a warning but that is said to tighten up as time goes on...

I'm skeptical... String heads, pole saw and hedge trimmer take different amounts of power. We use the Stihl Kombi power head and the saw can be ran all day on a tank of fuel, where as running the .155 string head will drain the tank asap.

Thank Goodness...

But it is not just California as I face this in Austria too...

Don't forget Canada is also in the mix as well as Rhode Island, Winston-Salem, etc.

Here is a Canada link.

When California rolled out unleaded gas my friends outside California said it ain't never going to happen here.

We now know NEVER is measured in years...

So I priced the AR3000 Battery Pack and FRA 135 Weed Eater yesterday. That cost will be around $ 1,800. It is this initial price that keeps me from pulling the trigger. It will be cheaper if I go with the smaller batteries but still looking at around $ 1,000.00. I really want to invest in this but still need to power it.

I know I love my Milwaukee cordless hammer drill, grease gun and Dewalt 20v tools I have. I use them more than my corded tools.
