3 pt driveshaft

I think I'm using the right terminology. I have a conical fertilizer spreader. I just bought a bigger tractor and have added Pat's quick hitches. The 3 pt shaft is now too short. I want to buy a longer shaft but am a little confused on how they are specified. I see different series mentioned and of course category, which I do understand. The old shaft was 24" long, about 1" square, and has quick attach ends for a standard splined shaft at both ends; no shear bolt, no clutch.

How much longer do you need?
They make an extension. I'll look it up.

I've used them before with my tractors, if you presently have a GOOD shaft they work well.

You could of course replace the PTO shaft but as stated another option is an extension. A third option is an over run clutch.

The fertilizer spreader takes very little torque, so you could buy a complete driveshaft, Series 1, with the 540/6 spline quick connect ends on it. If it is a square shaft, you could also just buy the tube half or the shaft half that is a longer than the original, but you need to be careful that it wouldn't bottom out when the PTO shaft on the tractor is directly in line with the gearbox shaft (shortest point).
