Personally I like following threads that start with something and end up going down a completely different path. I enjoy reading about other folks somewhat like-minded personal experiences/ and knowledge with a host of different things besides tractors. But tractor threads are my favorite it's encouraging to see I'm not the only one with a particular issues.

Can't speak to the issue at hand but I've been a member here for at least 15 years (I think) and it has remained one of the best internet forums of any type I have ever come across for the whole time. Consistently friendly, civil and extremely helpful. A lot of that has to do with the good folks here but it also has to do with how the site is run from the top down. On top of that the moderators and staff have NEVER been heavy handed in my experience.

So if they ruffle a feather or two, even mine, by shutting a thread down, so be it. Even if it wasn't just the right move who cares. After 15 years of excellence just in my own experience I'm willing to cut them all the slack in the world if it keeps this site as good as it has always been.

Just checked: been here closer to 17 years.

Saying that the thread in question was closed just because it was about oil is like saying that Raquel Welch was beautiful just because she was a woman.

As an aside; I can see the alien thread going the way of the oil thread and the dodo bird.
Okay, maybe the dodo won't come back to life in tapatalk or whatever that forum is.

I see what you mean. By the time I read all the stuff I;m not interested in,there's little time to spend with my faves.
It's the same way where I live. Smootie shops,oriental cusine,bagel bars and popcorn stores on every corner and i hate all those foods. Every time i eat at them I get sick and can't enjoy chicken and steak for a month.

so you compare this site with google but you want more restrictions like google dose ?? … here the rules are set and are the same for everyone there is no bias only restriction on subjects.

The thing is the subject variety are keeping the members involved and active on the site of it would only be tractor related the members wouldn’t be on this site as much because they be board so it would take longer to get answer for solution and problems.

I read what interests me, and avoid reading a few posters regardless of the topic. As far as a fuel thread being closed.... Highly unlikely it was closed due to civilized discussion of diesel fuel.
After almost 22 years I still enjoy reading this forum, and find it well managed.
