Ridding in a Citroën in Canadian winter had quite an opposite effect. Hydraulic was so stiff that you would bounce in the car. But, it's also the only car that you could drive with a wheel missing (and not tip it to ride on two wheels).
How cold? If it's in working order the suspension should work with no problem in the winter, haven't been below -30C but no problem.

If you raise the suspension over normal ride height it will be stiff and rise it all the way up you barely have any suspension at all.

Nothing to do with evs or french engineering but.....

i came in for lunch yesterday and the Movie Goldfinger was on. It was the scene where the asian guy, odd job?, was "alone", driving that early 60s black continental with the suicide doors. Just like the one in animal house.

I think he had a body in the trunk? (boot)

He drives into a bone yard, the boneyard guy picks up the car and puts it in the cruncher and bingo, in a couple of hollywood minutes, he's got a 2 ft x 2ft x 2 ft cube.

Here's what's remarkable. They pick the continental cube up with a magnet and set it in the back of this early 60s ford ranchero......or something. It was a 2 door car with a pick um up bed but small, not as big as an el camino, looked like a falcon front end.

The ford barely sank, very little suspension squat when that 2 ton cube was set in the bed.

hmmmmmmmmmmm i call BS!

Well, it will be interested to see what car makers come up with when it comes to urban transportation, to own a car in many cities are impossible.

If I lived in a city I would seriously consider taking the bus. However, I don't see myself willingly living in the city. ;)

Saturday I drove 850 miles from South Bend, Indiana to Stillwater, OK in 12.5 hours. Yesterday I drove 1100 miles from Stillwater, OK to Pittsburg, PA in 16.5 hours. How long would those trips have taken in an EV? Yikes!

I could use an EV around town, for sure. But it would have to be a 3rd vehicle for us.

Suburban for hauling people and/or trailer.
Sedan for road trips.
EV for around town - to work trips.

This is about Volkswagen's acknowledgment last week that they're not gaining on Tesla but they're losing ground on Tesla in competition. VW is one OEM that the world doesn't need to go out of business. Being a rocket scientist is a big advantage to succeed in the world of EVs.
