AC to DC stick welder conversion

They make 7018 AC rods.

This was in the old days. Totally unaware of 7018.

No internet and no exposure to real weldors. Bought the Forney new off the Snap-on truck in 1966 when I was 15.


Still have it but never use it. I call it my 230/230/230 machine.

The original purchase price was $230cdn- 230 Amp - $230 for front panel vinyl wrap when I restored the machine a few years back….LOL

Didn’t even know what a DC welding machine was and took the 6011 and 6013 on recommendation of the LWS that delivered the oxygen and acetylene to the farm.

Agreed. But I paid very little for it and there was no need to be greedy.
