I did this a while ago but thought it was so obvious, i didn't post it.

My BH is kept from drooping by a big hook made of heavy duty steel that grabs a big pin.

I was going to weld up a similar solution for me BH stabilizers. They droop and, if you don't pay attention, they turn into bat wings that will either self destruct of tear something up.

Duh......

Decided to use a left over piece of strap they used to secure my trusses on the delivery truck, convenient, cheap and, so far so good.

I used to use the same trick to deal with stabilizer cylinder bleed down. It's simple and obvious but I found out the hard way it can cause problems. On one occasion, I must have been in a brain fog. Instead of raising the stabilizers to release the tension on the nylon strap, I lowered them instead. The nylon strap snapped and one of the hooks put a sizable dent in the wall of my steel building! Luckily, I wasn't in the way and the only injury was to my self esteem!

Now, I use a couple of lengths of chain between the handrail and the stabilizer foot pin. I bent the chain hooks so they just slide off if too much tension builds up. They retain the stabilizers but just fall off if I make the same stupid mistake.

You guys make this all fancy and now I feel like my black bungee is inadequate

Note though, whatever those black bungees are made of really doesn’t like hydraulic fluid. Use them for hose management on the grapple and one drop from hooking/unhooking and that sucker melts through in about a day.
