Is there really a band on bacon in California or one that is proposed I've never heard of it before? Make sure your truck is an EV so you will be a Green smuggler. :)
Pigs and chickens have to be housed in spacious apartments or they can't be sold in California. Don't blame politicians for that one, the voters got together and passed an initiative. They are projecting a shortage of bacon, and substantial price rises for both pork and chicken products. Forge some paperwork, load a refrigerator truck in Vegas, and head for LA.

I think that I posted this earlier in this thread... Bacon may disappear in California as pig rules take effect
California voters passed a law in 2018 requiring more growing space for hogs, chickens, and egg layers.
As long as they are willing to pay for the difference I don't see that it should be an issue; yet what are the chances of THAT happening?
Most of the country's hogs are grown in the midwest (Iowa?) so they will also have to pay for an inspector to track from sow to grocery store.

In Iowa, which raises about one-third of the nation's hogs, farmer Dwight Mogler estimates the changes would cost him $3 million and allow room for 250 pigs in a space that now holds 300.

Pigs are put in a 20 square foot group pen in Iowa. That's 4' x 5'.
California stipulates a 24 square foot group pen. That's 4' x 6'.
That's the majority of the issue.

How is the grid going to handle electric bacon cookers?

Nuke it! That's still the quickest, easiest, least messy way to cook bacon.

Yet I still prefer my cast iron frying pan. :p
Solar power.
Just lay the bacon on your roof.

<voice echoing from thread rabbit hole>

The best way to cook bacon is to deep fry it in bacon grease.

To get back on thread, do EVs need axle grease? The salt in the bacon would probably corrode connections.

OK, that's my nomination for the dumbest thing said in this thread. It may not win...
