It’s insane that other governments can’t learn from the Venezuelan example and now the Cuban example. It’s so fresh and recent. I think other governments are so arrogant that they think they can do it better. It starts out so promising for everyone and 50 years later people are eating each other’s body parts.
Governments are just people, and people are idiots.

Just finished my new driveway. Installed lots of conduit for hi/lo voltage electric and water. My excavator said all the conduit was triple the price from a year ago.

Yikes!

Just think if that happened each and every year for 15 straight years. It happened in Argentina.

And we think ammo is hard to find today!

this from my neighbor

Easy really. Few drops food coloring in water just to make it visible. To keep it simple I use 1.75 liter vodka bottles. Not quite 1/2 cup water then add fuel to fill it and shake well. Settles quickly but I wait till next day and just siphon pure gas into fuel can. Water absorbs ethanol (alcohol) and sinks to bottom. Won’t mix with gas.

Use it in chain saw weed eater etc. it’s the ethanol that kills your motors.

Wow. Never heard of that trick before.

You must be a chemist!

I’m going to try it today.

To that I ask, "What annual tag or inspection?"

Many states have neither. Some have one or the other. Some have emissions inspections. Some have safety inspections. Some have both safety and emissions inspections.
I remember safety inspections in Indiana when I was a kid. My dad would have to take the car in to a local shop once a year that was a state inspection facility. Pretty much EVERY shop was a state inspection facility. And the system was corrupt. That's why it went away.
I was a bit surprised to see how many states have no vehicle inspection, I thought emissions inspection was required by the feds.
As far as "corruption" goes, since when does corruption go away? Yes it can be a racket...here in N.H. auto repair facilities do state inspections...you've got to use some common sense. I avoid muffler or tire chains as well as dealerships as they almost always find something that "needs repair". Best bet is an independent shop where you know the owner. I understand some states have inspection stations that are just that...no repairs.

Given how lax some people are about vehicle maintenance, I don't have a problem with a safety inspection. At least you know the "other guy"'s brakes, etc. were in good working order at some point in the last year... :cautious:
Emissions inspections make sense in regions where air quality is bad, not so much in rural areas.

PA actually made a slight improvement in inspections about 5 years ago. CDL registered trucks were required to be inspected semi-annually which is absurd. Now it’s annual. Dagging my trucks in for semi-annual inspection was A PITA
Dunno about you, but I feel a lot more at ease driving knowing that big rig has had a recent safety inspection. I sure don't want to get between an 18 wheeler with bad brakes and a bridge abutment. Sorry it's so inconvenient for you.

I thought it was ethanol that absorbed water.
In any event I can't imagine dumping water in a fuel tank does anything any good, sounds like the "cure" is worse than the disease.
