I got a week in re-education camp for insulting another TBNer.
Maybe you are “protected” from insulting others? I mean I have thick skin, but hey, good on you!
We see things from a different point of view; which doesn't necessarily mean we disagree. Passion brings out emotions, which can be misconstrued as insulting to another. We are all big boys here, a little ball busting shouldn't be a big deal. BTW, I was on vacation with you... Got a lot of work done on the honey do list... (y)

The town nearest me has fuel at 3 chain convenience stores, and one independent. Two of the chains were at $3.21, (one has a six cent savings for using their debit card... I no longer get fuel there.) The independent was at $3.17. The last is at 3.03. I've noted this price differential ever since prices started rising.

I always wonder why people will go out and pay for a fancy vehicle with no regard to fuel economy; then complain when gas prices go up a nickel. Those must be the same who will eat at an expensive, fancy restaurant; then complain about the price of a loaf of bread.
The more essential something is, the less we are willing to pay for it.

Some of us have no choice in vehicles. Trucks hauling heavy weight guzzle fuel.
$3.39/G for diesel today
$2.19/G 10 months ago.

I understand that... hence the last paragraph of my comment. In a perfect free market system that cost would be passed on to the consumer. (We pay a premium when diesel prices go over a certain mark.)
I was referring to somebody who buys a gigantic vehicle to drive to work, so that they can have something in their dooryard which is better than their neighbors.

I thought that it was stupid while pickup shopping last year, that depending on configuration a Toyota Tacoma gets markedly less mpg than a Ram with a Hemi.

You do have to feel a bit for someone who bought a 2021 (new) truck last fall (10 months agp) and fuel was $1.90. Now its $3.20, no matter what they drive.
This isnt "seasonal", either. you may see the seasonal drop later this year, but itll only be ~20 cents/G.
I think we are looking at 3.5-5 forever, if this keeps up.
Inflation has jumped bigly, and its going to keep jumping until the collapse.

I just got my wife a new one as well, and waiting on my f150 hybrid to come in this fall.
You'll have to give a review on it Wolf . . . I have been thinking about one myself only I don't think they tow enough . . . I suppose I could keep my '06 dodge 1 ton diesel along with it for towing heavy.

I guess I’m one of those weirdos who doesn’t get worked up over gas prices. Back in high school I remember paying about a dollar a gallon. Today I paid around $2.70 a gallon which adjusted for inflation is exactly the same. Considering my car now goes twice as far on that gallon of gas I call that a win. I’m sure gas will get a lot more expensive going forward but it’ll have to hit $5 a gallon before the impact to my wallet equals what it did 40 years ago.

Wow, I would have to think twice about mowing my yard every week at those prices.

It may or may not be seasonal, but it's not necessarily forever either. Gas has been in the current price range (and higher) before and has gone down again.

At one time it was up over 4$/gallon. I remember one Vermont organic farmer back then stating on national news how he hoped it went to $8.00, because more people would buy his product as it would cost too much to ship food in.
