56° right now...high in the upper 70's and some clouds...

Chores: Dump run is necessary...try to see if I can get in for a haircut. If it's dry enough, probably mow the lawn this afternoon and some string trimming.
I'd written a day or two back about that little hand held chain and my problems when using my right hand (poor dexterity from a stroke). Think I'll see how well I can do with my left hand. I am right handed, but since the stroke I do most everything (except writing) with my left hand

Got tired of messing around with electronic sound protection, so went old school

Pretty much the same thing I used when in the Navy

Good Morning!!!! 85F @ 4:00AM. Sunny. Near record high temperatures. High 113F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
The 10-day doesn't show much improvement in high temps, with hundreds and high nineties the norm, but at least the lows will drop back into the high sixties by mid week.

Memory tests and Medicare mandated exams? I've never had much of a mind for remembering things I couldn't at least write down first. Not even in grade school, after writing Lincoln's Gettysburg Address down repeatedly until my hand hurt. What do they do to you if you flunk?

Ever since Drew's post about hats the other day, I've been looking on and off for a replacement for my old straw hat, which is still too big even with terry cloth shims under the sweat band. It's getting a little ratty, too. I like the ones with ventilated crowns, but want a chin strap, and a brim that won't flop around in the wind. Every time I find one, it's not available in my size, or the reviews say it'll fall apart in a month. More Covid shortage problems still rattling through the supply lines.

I've had a lot of those blow molded cases show up busted to pieces by the gorillas at the post office, UPS, and FedEx. Not a problem when the tools will end up in a tool chest, not fun when it's something electric or air operated that comes with a lot of little parts. I usually end up just throwing them away and making do somehow. Then there's those tool truck cases that are so nice I can't bring myself to toss them out, even after the tools end up in one of their nice roll away chests. Somewhere up in the rafters there's a cardboard box full of them. I can just picture the look on whoever's face that gets stuck cleaning this place out after I'm gone.

Got in a short session outside yesterday morning before the thermometer hit a hundred before noon. Enough to see that there's a little more digging needed this morning, and the impact hammer will spend some time outside its blow molded case doing it.

Don cautioned about making sure to leave plenty of slack in the plastic pipe lines. Well, in these temperatures there's so much it looks like the trench is full of black snakes. I'm gonna have to wait for cooler weather before anything gets buried.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Good morning all. I moved the sheep over to a far off field this morning and it has brought a pleasure I haven't experienced for months - the luxury of being able to drive in and out of all the other fields without having to keep getting out to open and shut gates !

Roy, my dad would have appreciated David Clark ear defenders when we all joined in with Dave Clark 5 foot stomping Bits and pieces

Good Morning
It’s 69 with as high of 83 forecast for today. Nice clear skies, first since Wednesday.

Yesterday was mostly spent in shop. Helped oldest son change secondary float bowl on the Holley carb on his ski boat. In the process of setting the float level, it dawned on me that the once ubiquitous Holley 4 barrel carburetor has become a dinosaur.

I accomplished my goal of getting the two speakers ready for pickup, so maybe I’ll have a goof off day today, but it’s hard for me to slow down, I guess I’m afraid I might like it. I might go look at a used excavator with a friend today, I hope it’s nice and he buys it. It would be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Need to mow grass today. Hope to get some weed killer down. No other plans. I
Good Morning All.

Same here, 71° and sunny.

I use the old school ear protection, but have to wear baseball cap instead of the wide brim hat.

We celebrated our anniversary this past weekend 32 yrs + the 1st 9 yrs without papers for 41 yrs together.
Congratulations!

Good morning, Raining again for the 7th day in a row, but the total is still a little less than 2" for the week. What a nice July.
72˚F heading to the upper 80s.

Still have not mowed the yard, so that could be on the agenda if it dries. I was going to start repairs on Mom's barn but too muddy after she got 2" rain yesterday. The mud by the barn is 50% manure because the cows use the overhang for shade and shelter.

Happy anniversary Luther and wifey!

Eric, was dad more of a Glen Miller type? My mom was, but she took well to the British invasion of music.
