Kubota L2501 HST 4WD w/ S2T Turbo Kit = 35 PTO HP (Current), Cub Cadet Pro Z 560 S KW (Current), B2601 Kubota (Sold), E170 John Deere (Sold)
Greetings, I've been reading/researching this forum for the past two years while I was trying to figure out my first tractor purchase. I'm very thankful for all the member contributions and the posts I've read as that information, really helped me with my decision.

Last year I purchased a 2020 Kubota B2601 and it has been an amazing tractor. Originally, I was planning on purchasing a BX (great tractor BTW) but, this forum, neighbors and co-workers urged me to buy a larger tractor. I'm thankful for that, the B2601 was a better fit for the property at the time as I learned how to operate a completely new-to-me machine. The B2601 has done pretty much everything I've asked of it on my undeveloped and somewhat hilly, 5 acers. I've done a lot of clearing and there is much, much more to do.
However, during the past year I've come to the conclusion (I could be wrong) that I need more tractor weight for some of the ground engagement tasks on my property. So, I ultimately decided to keep the B2601 primarily as my mower (with 4wd and diesel being the plus) and purchase the L2501 as my workhorse.

Well, I signed the paperwork yesterday and I have a new 2021 L2501 on the way. I'm pretty excited!

Anyway, thought I would share and I appreciate all the information this forum has to offer.

Well, that's an exciting acquisition. Once you get the tractor you can start accessorizing it. It comes only with the left hand grab handle. The fender is drilled so I purchased the right grab handle from my Kubota dealer. I live in a dusty environment so I added an inner air filter even though the mechanic deemed it unnecessary. I use the front loader and decided a level indicator would be a helpful addition so I bought that. I don't do ground engagement stuff but if I did I'd add beet juice to the tires. At this point I just have a weight box for when using the front loader. Note - if you have the ag tires you can space the rear tires out by adjusting them on the rims without the use of added wheel spacers.

Thank you!
Great suggestion! And, thanks to this forum, the right hand grab handle (and nuts) are already on order! I can't believe this tractor only has one! So lame!

The dealer is ballasting the rear tires, as they did with my B2601. I have the R14's on both tractors.

I also added the telescopic stabilizer kit which the dealer had to order for my tractor.

Hopefully you like your L2501 as much as I do mine! Good suggestions from Roadworthy, I did all three back when I bought mine.

I'm anticipating that I will. The L2501 seems like it will be a great tractor for my needs.

I appreciate all the suggestions!

Upsizing you Tractor

Go to 2:00 mark. He gives an example of moving out of a BX series. I think you might want to look at something larger than a L2501.

Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I can’t remember viewing that specific video before, but I watch the Messick’s videos often (I ordered my right side grab handle and hardware from Messicks as a gesture to payback for all the helpful videos I’ve watched from them).

It’s true, I would have liked to go a little larger than the L2501, however, the L2501 is the largest tractor I can fit into the garage at the moment. I looked at the Grand L (L3560), my #1 choice and the MF1835M but I’m still a little concerned about the emissions equipment on the larger machines.
My dealer and I agreed that the L2501 would be a good machine with a decent weight increase for my property and the chores I have planned until the new garage is built.

You might not have the room but I had a 22' x 18' with 9 ft legs boxed eave carport installed to store my tractor and implements. I have 98" clearance which my L3301 with ROPs cleared by 8" but my eventual MX5400 with ROPS might have an issue. I paid $2800 including installation.

This would allow you to get the tractor you need. I wouldn't worry about the DPF on a larger tractor.

That could definitely be a good option if necessary moving forward.
The L2501 is already on the way so it’ll have to do the job for now.
