Its simply perfect for you, seriously.
Ah... somebody thought it fit you better...

I think it's beneficial to debate these things, someone will learn something.
That pretty much sums up what Ive been saying, but if someone wants to be convinced a 3L ecoboost is a tougher engine and a better choice in a truck that a 6.7L diesel, more power to him. :confused3::laughing:
The other one is just here to do his pot stirring.
It seems to me, your situation only dictates a need for a heavy duty truck, therefore all know how to do is recommend a heavy duty truck. That is easy to do as you've proved. There is no articulation, just ham fisted justifications.
For the vast majority, including me who has both an ecoboost and powerstroke, I would love something I could combine into one. An ecoboost has more than enough power to haul what I need, but the chassis is not up to the task.
Nuance is a lost art...

What would you be gaining to drop an ecoboost in a F-350 vs the new 7.3?
Guess you conveniently skipped this post I wrote an hour ago in this thread. I think the other thing you keep forgetting is that it was you making the comparison between the thickness and strength of the ecoboost and the 6.7L Cummins. I simply responded that a 6.7 Cummins will work circles around an ecoboost and last longer doing it.
Seems like you don’t take opposing points of view too well!!!!
It does have stronger internals and bigger bearing surface area's. Look it up.
It's hard to follow your logic on that post. You say it makes no sense to buy a diesel if you don't tow a certain weight. OK. You say it makes no sense to buy a diesel if you don't drive a certain mileage per year and a high load. OK . You say the diesel will last longer. Ok.
But guess what I'm a buyer of a HD truck with non of those conditions. I'm also a buyer of a light duty truck with all those conditions.
So you're not talking to me there.
I live in wyoming at 8,000 feet. You loose 3% of power for every 1,000 feet of elevation, I'm 24% down off the bat. The Ecoboost puts me back to square.
I waited years for a boosted production truck. Not something you have to part together to get. It's amazing to be able to be on the interstate in a 80mph head wind going up hill and not lug the motor. It's also amazing when I go skiing, to get that same performance I don't have to take my diesel, when I use to have to. It's a pain in the *** driving a diesel in a ski town, but I did and did it for years. Now I don't.
Things are different up in the thin air.
