Neighbors are the line of defense... I will get a call from neighbor who said text arrived package delivered and can I pick it up?

Sure... some weekends there are a lot of packages delivered!

I now pick up and put in their garage and text picture back to them.

At the end of the day, I still don't understand how you can rationalize knowingly steeling another person.

Perhaps no different than the phone call I got telling me I won 5 million dollars from the publishers clearance house sweepstakes along with a 100k mercedes, even asking me if I could be dressed up for a picture! The only thing I wasn't understanding is why I needed to go to a back and pull 7k from my account to pay taxes on the car. I spent more time on the phone with that guy, because he actually had a comforting Wisconsin accent rather than someone I could hardly understand.

What I'd like to know is how they steel the money from me, but I'm not actually driving to my bank to figure it out:laughing:

The important thing is you gave them your credit card number, date of birth and SSN.

I'm not as dumb as I look:D

Seriously, last year a guy called and I was supposed to go to the dollar general store to pick up my prize after I picked up a check from my bank (the dollar genearl was right across the road from getting gas when the guy calledand then he told me I needed to something else, which I forgot, then I gave him a new jersey send off over the phone LOL).

The only thing I can figure out is they give me some lazy butt excuse why they can't meet me, and they ask me for my check # with routing info, but I never got that far either with either caller.

I like to have fun with telemarketers or scam callers when I have the time. Boys love it, drives my wife up the wall.

I know no place is immune to evil but I refuse to live somewhere my family and stuff are not reasonably secure. I think Amazon makes daily stops at our house (I live with a bunch of girls) and we have never had a problem. If stuff starts disappearing I am going somewhere else.

A good, sweet Pit bull is a good first line of defense!

For a short time Amazon would give you updates on where the delivery truck was with your package, including location and street. My first thought was; porch pirates delite!

Notice that they no longer do that....

Amazon reported a delivery but I saw nothing. When I checked with them we found that one digit of my order # had been off and some guy in Florida got a nice Euro-Quick M-25 MIG torch he didn't pay for. I got credit and re-ordered.

The last two delivery notifications included a pic of the item on my porch. I'm sure that's for liability. Works for me.

They still do that here on items being delivered by Amazon. It only shows what street the truck is on and how many stops until your house. It only shows up when you are the 10th stop. But still.
