Got home about an hour ago 27 outside wind blowing at 30mph 500 gallon propane tank empty auto refill my butt they will hear about in morning lots of blankets for sure no hot water either but arrived safe and sound even made it up driveway

It is good news that you made it back. You could sue the supplier, or at least threaten them. I had to do that to a propane company I had up here, for the very same reason, it worked.
You got electricity, you've got hot water.

Sorry to hear about the dry tank, Buppies. I put one of these monitors on and can check the tank without having to go down to it. They have versions that work either with your WiFi network or with a cellular modem. WiFi's cheaper because there's no monthly fee, but your network has to be able to reach the tank.

Is there an idler pulley on it? If so then maybe the bearings in it are going or gone.

Good point, Bill. 4 pulleys I believe and while I checked the spindles I didn’t check the pulleys,

Appreciate the suggestions, but pretty much all going the wrong direction. Reading back, looks like I didn't really explain what I'm looking for, or why. There is a piece of schedule 40 pvc on it now that she thinks is too heavy and exerting too much pull on the grommets holding it at the top. I'm looking for something lighter and in the 1/2" to 3/4" diameter range. It's really just to keep the bottom of the material straight and give it something to roll up around (she's sewn velcro strips at the top to hold it up above the closet doors when rolled up).

I'm thinking that PEX tubing might be the answer. It seems pretty lightweight, yet rigid enough to keep the bottom straight. Now, I just need to find someone to sell me a 64" section of it.

Wouldn’t the pex have a tendency to curl?

What about rope or cable? Can buy either by the foot at HD.

Yeah, February here is just a tad different than there, as you know. We're looking at single digit lows this weekend and all next week. The Giant will stay in the garage for a little longer.

we did 30k on friday mostly single track mountain bike trails at Rotorua. Then sunday 40k mostly local streets but quite a few trails. Next week 3 of us are of to do the Alps to Ocean.320km but over 7 days. It's summer here and the temperature has been around 28 - 30C (84 -86F)

24 right now...high, about 30 today...

After clearing the snow yesterday, we had another dumping mid afternoon...maybe 2". Broke a shear pin when trying to push back some frozen snow partially blocking my neighbor's mailbox. I'll replace that today. Fortunately, it's the easy one to replace (two shear pins on a Frontier snow blower).
My other neighbor's son came over last evening to shovel the roof...not necessary to do the whole roof, but one section will result in leaking ceiling if not cleared. Since he hadn't been over after the last couple snows, and the temperature has been so cold, the snow on the roof was like concrete. Took him a while to break it up.

A treat this morning to be able to enjoy others snow pics while here the temperature has shot up to the point where grass is starting to grow. It may not be much and likely only for a couple of days, even so every extra mm is most welcome this year.

Captain Tom, our national treasure who raised a fortune for UK health services using nothing more than a Zimmer frame and determination has died. There is sad irony in the fact that it was Covid that took his life, though having made it past the age of 100 and accomplishing so much, I doubt he would have been at all bitter about that.

PJ, ask around at work and see if anyone goes sea fishing. The butt section used for heavy duty glass fibre or carbon fibre fishing rods is stiff and lightweight - just don't tell them why you would like to borrow a rod ;)

Sounds like you might be looking for a curtain rod.

I installed the WIFI version, I added an outdoor access point to communicate with the standby generator, so I had good signal. I think that it would be cheaper to add an access point than to use the cellular version. I discovered that my propane supplier uses them for their large customers, and was able to get them to communicate with my tank. My sporadic use as backup heat and generator required me to be an “on call” customer, but now they will fill it when they are in the area without me calling.

Morning all! 24 here going to 30 with clouds.
Looks like my 6 inch estimate was off a little. The wind blew the section of the walk in front of my house down to that. The rest of the yard and driveway was over the shovel (about 18 inches)with drifts up to 3 feet. The B2650 blew and plowed like it was nothing. Sure glad it was not as wet as they thought it would be. The town plow actually did a great job keeping our street open. Will have to clean up the drifts from overnight and clean around the mail box and fire hydrant but should be an easy job. Another storm coming Friday. Hopefully stays cold enough to snow not rain.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

32 outside this AM. Heading to mid 40's. The wind finally died down about an hour or so ago. From. "good thing we took those trees down" to "it's really windy" on the rip scale. LOL.
Sheesh.....talk about a back-end to a NorEaster.

RIP Sir Tom.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe outside and stay healthy my friends.

Coffee is done brewing. 16° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 33° with lots of sun. Got a couple of sewing room drawers sorted and cleaned out. Still more to do. Going to save them for next week when temperatures are forecast to be in the single digits. Little shopping today. Tomorrow is suppose to be a snow day.
Wanted to take pictures yesterday evening. This little guy was the only one to pose for me.

good morning all. 27 going up to 41 today with weather clearing, some flurries this morning.
Looked out at walkway and it was still clean from yesterday so I guess not much came down last night.

Only chore for today is going out and getting the snow off the generator. Going to be 41 and sunny tomorrow also so hope some melting happens.

Buppies, sorry that gas company let you down. I have opposite problem with my fuel oil delivery. They come out too often and bring me less than hundred bucks
of fuel oil. I guess the folks here before must have used a lot more. I keep it warm too..maybe around 72 due to my arthritis.
Thankful that heater register in bathroom is right in front of toilet so vinyl floor is nice and warm. One of life's little pleasures...

ya know, those dealers only make money when they deliver the gas, so failing to deliver is bad for everyone. If their software says time to deliver, and they can't,
they sure ought to call. I paid 900 bucks upfront to buy fuel oil which now turns out to be too much, will have a credit I'm sure at end of winter.
I paid 1.79 for fuel oil, wonder what it's going for now in depth of winter.

waiting until tomorrow to go food shopping, need to pick up more birdseed anyway

24F cloudy 30 for high chance of couple snow showers...there some whispering going on about another nor'eastern Sunday PM into Monday. :(

Outside chores done toast time.
Plans for today...Clean snow from roofs again case if Friday storm wet and heavy, afternoon seat time on Kubota pushing snow banks that need it,fill deer feeder than see what rest of day brings.

Enjoy the day all.

afternoon seat time on Kubota pushing snow banks that need it

that sounds like fun

Buppies, hopefully when truck arrives you'll get warm again. What a switch from the balmy SC shore...
If they fill up a 500 gal tank that should last you a while anyway. May your coffee taste good in front of the fireplace this morning.

Good morning! 20 now, maybe 31 later. Had some sun yesterday, but windy. Forecast for next week is frigid.....

Sodamo, check the idlers under load. Sometimes they will spin free under no load, but lock up loaded. Also make sure the tensioner arms any idlers may be attached to move freely when loaded.

Local health department has reported about 22 new cases of Covid/day for the last 4 days. Down considerably from the 125+/day about a month ago. Vaccine is still in short supply, but both the health department and local hospital are able to ration shots. Both have a long wait list. I have decided to wait, let those who haven稚 had Covid or have health issues get inline for their vaccine. I know it is a risk, but CDC guidelines versus Cleveland Clinic advice on antibodies varies considerably. I am going with the CC advice. And being more careful.

Sold some more bike parts. Those are packaged and ready to ship. Other than getting some warranty reports done this morning and ship the parts, not sure what I am gonna get into today.

Got a follow up appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning. Figure I will be back to work full time next week......

Everyone stay safe out there

Good morning, the temperature is 6°F and going up to 27. Wind N 17 gusting to 28 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

Expecting snow soon. There is a front that was in the northern States that has swung north and is starting to snow in Regina, SK, if the track flattens out we/I could see a dusting from that.

Today is an energy conservation day.

Stay safe all

Sadamo, I had a weak tensioner spring on my old Simplicity ZTR that caused that, almost never found it.

Got Ellen’s vehicle cleaned off, snow on top of ice, looks like between 2-3” of flurries on the ground. I wouldn’t need to do that if she would move her junk out of that side of the garage, I’m SOL, the El Camino is in my side. Glad the first two rounds melted first.
Around freezing this morning, roads are spotty.

/ Good morning!!!! #126,900
32 going to 47. Half of snow melted yesterday, but was surprised how hard it was snowing when I took the stove ashes out at 5:30am this morning. Didn't last and sun trying to peek out now.

The 3 deer hung around another night and day, so got to watch them all day yesterday. About dusk they started heading to the woods. Hope the coyote is gone...got him on two different trail cams including one in the front yard by my truck.

We don't buy propane, except getting the small tanks for the grill and generator refilled, but I see a couple of different company trucks running down our road, so there is competition here. Hope your company treats you right to make up for the slight, Buppies.
