Good morning!!!!

My son, in just 1 tank of gas, has gone from never riding a m/c before, to now....he's jumping small hills, shifting up and down (keeping the bike in a good rpm range), and having a blast. He was disappointed that he didn't get to ride in today's snow.

My oldest daughter, got to play the hollow body Gretsch at church today for 3 songs. She did awesome. She has "it", and I don't.

Middle daughter had a blast in the snow today.

Drew, I would say to bring your new blower over, but I don't have any concrete drive or walks....so maybe not...will probably be mostly gone by the Am.

Many times, people don't see the deer before it runs out and hits them. Glad all is alright Rich.

SUPERCROSS starts on the 16th!!! You can subscribe to the Peacock channel for $4.99/mo or cut most commercials for $9.99/month. They usually start off with 3 races in Cali, but moved them all to Texas due to Covid rules in Cali.

We had "breakfast for supper", fresh farm eggs, Jimmy Dean Natural pan sausage (drained after cooking), and home made biscuits.

Prayers for the USA, Buppies, Drew, Ron, those with hurting backs, and the sick.

good morning all. Cold morning, 21 out now only going up to high 30's today, but fair weather.
This is what we used to call that clear cold Canadian air.

up kind of early, nothing planned for today other than grocery shopping this morning.
Surprised myself, the beets that had taken up residence in the fridge turned out just fine, hard as rocks, and
were nice and sweet when baked. The small red cabbage that has been in there at least a month looks ok but I bet
it's totally dried out inside. So before groceries come in, will organize the fridge and do some cleaning. Also have to run wash so
looks like a domestic morning.

One interesting thing I discovered on the snow blower is that the throttle is electronic. That round knob on the panel is the throttle and it is just as
smooth as can be, little friction, like turning a potentiometer. Never had that before, must be part of the electronic circuitry built in for EFI.
I still haven't figured out what the "auto steering" is. Probably will find a factory Youtube video on it.
Kids in Texas yesterday must have been all smiles in the snow. I bet even Whipper had fun.

Good morning all. Nice to be able to step outside this morning without going for a slide on ice. Westerly winds have flipped it to a couple of degrees above freezing, just a pity they are set to bring rain too by the afternoon. Hope that Texas snow also melts before it arrives on our shores.

Mole hills have been popping up everywhere over the last month, I better make a start on trapping them before they think of breeding.

The news is reporting that due to Covid-19, some hospitals have not only running out of beds, their morgues can no longer cope with the quantity of people dying. Police forensic specialists are helping to provide the manpower in the temporary body storage facilities that have been set up in the south of the country.

Dire times indeed.

Good Morning!
22 going to a partly sunny 30 today. Working on first cup of coffee.
Things are going good here for winter time. Not much planned for the week. Need to get some fuel for the tractor and kerosene for the space heater in the garage. Will top off the truck too. Seems strange going from filling the tank every other day to now learning to check the gauge.
Still no retirement check from the state. Good thing we planned on a long wait. Nothing goes as slow as government!
Stay safe and healthy all!

Good morning, the temperature is 23°F and going up to 32. Wind S 3 mph. Cloudy.
I wont see the sun for at least a week.

I am going to see what kind of trouble I can get into today.

It is kinda hard to see a blue flag in a black and white picture.

Have a safe day all

Phil, in this area I don't see any evidence of kerosene being sold. Down in NC a few of the gas stations had
pumps off to the side with kero. Freshness of fuel in supplier tanks is a real issue. I guess as kero got stale it would just burn with
less btu's. My understanding is that propane puts out more heat as a fuel but of course is much more volatile. And you need some form of ventilation for
both.

Now that I'm back North, I'd love to have a shop with a wood stove in it. And a couple of chairs. There is so much firewood in this area just laying around here due to storms, and lots of
local firewood providers. Saw a sign for 175 a cord, probably a undelivered price.
I bet 300 years ago when the original farmers settled this area, likely there would be a lot less "free wood" laying around.

I'm sure some of you, and certainly your parents, grew up in a home where there was no thermostat on the wall. More wood on the fire or coal in the kitchen stove/oven.
Honeywell hadn't invented the "comfort zone" yet. No knobs to twirl for instant heat.
I think this is one reason generator sales are so strong. When you lose power you lose hvac and folks don't have cross flow ventilation any more, they have hermetically sealed houses,
and when temps start dropping and kids start whining not having heat is a major upset. Those electric fireplaces make heat but not like a wood stove for sure.
The dial on the wall is supposed to work...

now if you grew up "in the city", you were used to these modern conveniences even earlier. The outhouse behind the farmhouse where I grew up
thankfully was only for decoration but had been there a long time and was once in service for sure. A three holer, could have quite the party in there. Not.

this would make a fun separate thread, but have any outhouse pictures?
this was before ours got rehabbed, came back with a door, all fixed with a moon crescent on it, and my father used it to store garden tools.

When we would go out to the family farm, there was an outhouse. A chamber pot under the foot of the bed for if you got to 'go' overnight.
