I知 probably the only guy on here to pack match heads in a chuck of pipe then light it off as a ground surface rocket. Pre Sputnik days, didn稚 know I wassupposed to point it up.

Some years ago we had a couple of kids pack match heads into an old shell casing. when they got it sealed up discovered there was no hole in the bottom to light it so rigged up a drill to make one.The drill bit wasn't sharp and got hot. They were both killed.

That is sad.
Probably lucky we didn’t dare take too many matches and no way to seal up the pipe and if so it would have been the old fashioned hand drill (like the egg beater).

We used old bike spokes and/or smallish copper tubing, copper didn’t hold up well.

Went to a Knights of Columbus Father/son breakfast. The speaker was from Boston gang police. Paid attention and learned you could shoot needles from the threaded (nut) end of a bicycle spoke. The zip guns were nice too, but I didn’t have extra money to by the 22’s.

I had pneumonia twice within a month last year, and got GBS the 2nd time I had pneumonia. Can稚 get flu shot now. Not sure what they will say about CV shot. My Dr retired and I currently have no Dr.

"However, one group of people who shouldn't get the vaccine, are those who suffer from Guillain-Barre syndrome, a "reaction, which is a rare neurological reaction to either influenza or the vaccine for influenza," he explained. "We recommend that those people do not get vaccinated because you might trigger a similar, serious response.""
"Do Not Get Vaccinated" If You Have This Syndrome, Says Dr. Fauci

No more noisy ZTRs.

This coming soon, EGO battery operated ZTR. $5,000. Mows up to 2 acres with 4 batteries (add 2 more batteries for 3 acres).
Coming Soon! The Z6 Zero-Turn Riding Mower | EGO
As a full system with the new charger and four 10Ah batteries, expect the EGO Zero Turn to retail at the $5,000 price point. Given what else is available currently, that’s a pretty nice price for a lithium-ion ZT with the design they’re offering. EGO Z6 Zero Turn Riding Mower ZT424L | Pro Tool Reviews

Compared to this Greenworks battery ZTR for $7,500 to $20,999. Mows from 2 1/4 to 12 acres.

7" of wet snow, tractor and plow did fine. Wish I had a cab though when the freezing rain started. Sleet now - maybe some skating tomorrow :-(

Up to hit the head...looked out the window...not much accumulation at 0150, but coming down steadily. Current prediction is for 6-11 inches by Thursday afternoon...
Back to bed now...

17 degrees now, about 4” on the ground so far. The guessers have us in the 10 to 18 inch range, we shall see.

Still awake at 0221...real bummer. Fortunately, I'll be working from home today, so no need to make the 50 drive south and no need to get up when the alarm goes off at 0315.
Snowing pretty hard now...looks like it's added an inch or so from my last post at 0054.
Forecast is still for 6-9 inches...my guess is we'll be closer to 6" then 9"...still plowable (or blowable)

   / Good morning!!!! #123,814
24 degrees out going up to 36 today as snow stops. Looks pretty white out there...and quiet too.
When sun comes up, will go out and shovel small walkway, then wait for snow plow guy to do the rest.
Had a scone along with coffee and all is well with the world.

Mostly, that's a lot of ice, sorry about your mess to clean up.
Power is still on here, nice to see

Guess I'm up for the duration now...lousy night of up and down since 0100

Snow's really coming down now and the forecast went from 6-9 to 8-12 inches. Although I'd like to see how the work lights do in this weather, not much use going out for a few hours.
13 degrees right now...not too much wind, but the occasional stiff breeze...high today in the very low 20's. Looks to be 5" or so outside right now. Fortunately, it's a powdery snow, so I doubt we lose power...
Better wear my insulated coveralls today (when I do head out)

Good morning, the temperature is 0°F and going to a high of 12. Wind ENE 15 mph. Sunny!
It is going to be sunny and cold tomorrow, too. Then we will pay for the three days of sun, but it will also warm up a tad.

I went to bed a little after 9 and got up 15 minutes ago to 'hit the head'. Normally I am up in the middle of the night at least once, not last night.

A 3 P.M. appointment at the garage to change the heater blower motor in the Dodge, I could hear the thing squealing last week. The blower is starting to seize up.

The kittens last night enjoyed the joys of smooth peanut butter. They both liked it, then.

I would rather have to deal with 12" of snow than 1/4" of freezing rain.

Have a safe day all

Coffee is still brewing. 25° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 33° with cloudy skies. Got about 1" of snow yesterday. Not enough to get seat time on tractor. Service tech thinks I need a new flame sensor. got one and put it in yesterday. No luck. Google search says if new sensor does not fix it. New board may be needed. Will see what repair company says today. At least I can get furnace to cycle and keep whole house warm. Grocery shopping today. Then seen what else shows up.

Roy, loss of sleep has been my thing last couple of days. I need a couple of Mostly's naps.

I am falling behind on reading all the post. Hope to catch up later today.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning. It’s 23 and the snow is winding down. Haven’t been outside yet, but looks like about 10” or so.

Yesterday didn’t follow the plan, no cooking or bread. I got an order for a speaker cabinet to go to Quebec, so I made a run for some Baltic birch and spent the day making sawdust. I got all the parts cut out and dry fit.

Today will be consumed with snow cleanup. Besides my lane, three neighbors asked if I would plow them out as well. Hopefully get back to the speaker when I’m done.

Morning all! About ready to start my second cup of coffee.
18 out there with snow blasting down. Forecast has been upped to possible 2 feet for some of the state. I will go out around 8 and make a first pass. Should be light and fluffy so I have the plow on the tractor. Wife will be working from home so no need for me to be crazy until it stops. Will head to rental property in there somewhere also to open them up. Nothing else planned for the day.
Be careful out there cleaning up. Slow and steady!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

38 outside this AM, heading to mid 30's. We got about an inch and a half yesterday before the rain and sleet moved in. Now we look like we have a quarter inch of ice on everything.
Up the road a tree fell on a garage, pine, no injuries. Not going to do much today. Just feed the wood stove. Lost power twice this AM, reset alarm both times.

Hope all have a good day, be safe outside in the snow, especially so if you have ice. Stay healthy my friends.
