Garage decoration project

My Dad's neighbor of almost 50 years moved to NC. He gave my Dad a ton of stuff he didn't want to move, some was pretty nice, some seemed like it should have gone in the trash. I'm not griping, I'm grateful I ended up with a functional generator, and a bunch of decent bench tools I've given to my oldest son (and he got a heavy as heck pool table).
I pulled this from the near junk pile, I thought with some clean up it would make a nice light for the garage. I'm building a box to help protect it and mount it. I've got an adapter so it plugs in and works off 110 volts.
I think it's going to be Dad's Christmas gift.

At work, we are forced out of our building, refurbished in 1978, an old tobacco barn... 40 years of junk to go through. Nice way to say good bye to the building.

I like the light. Any idea what it is off of? It kind of seems familiar, but then it doesn't.

My guess is a bus, but it was on a stub of red metal when I got it, so I may be wrong there. The odd part is that the lens is amber, not red. Its glass, so I don't think its faded.
I'll have my Dad ask next time they call.

Looks familiar to me too. I recall a friend of mine had one similar on the rear of his Model A. It lit up the night.
