I never even thought of this until now. Does Kubota use backhoe/Deere pattern? Because I only operate Cat pattern, so I'm probably going to be all screwed up? LOL

HaHa me too kubota uses backhoe pattern but you can switch 4 lines and change it.....I did it on my JD770 but not on the l47tlb yet.....

You just switch the hoses at the valve body...

Yep, that's what I've done. Just switch the hoses. If you want to go further, print a new label out if you have others use it so they are reminded.

They dropped it off last night before I got home. Then went to dealer today to pay for it and my new rims and tires even came in early!!

I'm surprised how well balanced it is, even climbing my steep hills. Didn't feel lite on the front compared to a full size backhoe.

Indiscriminately changing hoses without regard to which circuits may not be protected by circuit relief valves may not end well. I would only make such changes having knowledge about each function's circuit protection. One backhoe function can easily overpower another, circuit protections help prevent cylinder and other components from being placed under more pressure than they are designed to handle.

I am not saying don't make pattern changes. I am saying it would be good practice to find out if the manufacturer made provisions for pattern changes when they selected valving.

I don't think it will be a problem at all. I did it on the JD770 and it was fine. Its just a pattern change .. Its tough finding out stuff from the manufacturer...

Circuit reliefs are called out in most parts breakdowns.
Like I said, it is something to consider.
I never figured those little ARPS hoes had enough power to hurt themselves anyhow.
Start disabling circuit protection on an L47 or similar hoe and there's a very good chance something is gonna fold up.

You think every valve has its own relief on the backhoe or one for the whole valve body?

I’m not sure how the little hoes are set up but the bigger ones have a separate relief on every function.

Some functions may have none, some may be set at different pressures. There's all manner of differences.
For those wondering what a circuit relief is, it is a relief valve that allows oil from a circuit whose valve spool is centered to be bled off when put under extreme pressure. Circuit reliefs are set higher than the main system relief valve.

It is also possible that a CR on one valve section protects the rod end of a cylinder circuit and the next section has CR protection on the base end.

So on the excavator you can change the pattern with the factory installed valve , But they don't offer it on the kubota backhoes.I think some other brand does...

I’m not saying it doesn’t exist but I’ve never seen anything except mini excavators that do that.

Not just mini excavators but also bigger ones.. I'm trying to find that post...

The hoses on the bh77 are color coded.
Hoses on each valve are above and below each other. Orange over orange, red over red for example.
I think if you have enough hose it would not be too difficult.

Thanks for the info. But think I will just leave it alone and get used to operating both. I asked my dealer about it and they said they have done it in the past, but said it is a real pain on these. I tried it out yesterday and did some digging but a few times just had to stop and "reset" because I started using the wrong hand for a function, LOL
