Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Cold.... went down to 9 last night, light snow all night adding up to the 12" at present. The temp is now a balmy 23, still snowing with another 6-12 predicted for today on top.....

Thomas---
I think your snow valve stuck open needs parts or replacing.

RNG, yes, the front door is closed.... but the back patio is open.... that's why all the snow went south!

LFN... I sure hope we don't get those temps.... about 10 years ago, a massive cold front came down from BC giving us -30F temps for a day. Lots of broken pipes... 3/4 of the city shut down. I am glad it only happens very rarely!

Well, I was not sure what I was going to do today.... that question was answered for me.... my son next door has a frozen water supply line to the house....so we will be playing with a heat gun, then insulate some pipe. We didn't have a problem last year, so something has changed. Could be as simple as which way the wind was blowing through a crack....

Heading out to the cold now... everyone have a great day! I'll check in later.....

My car thermometer showed 39 degrees as I was going to and from Walmart. I got new styrofoam covers to put on the outside water faucets and put them on when I got back.

69°F and .12 inches rain. Looks like similar day to yesterday but it would be nice if we got a good rain instead of just annoying wind and wet. Less than 2inches for the month we definitely need it. Big front coming in from west.

Just continue on from yesterday and hope for more results.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

bought a small HP printer/scanner yesterday in order to get copy/scan feature. Guy at Staples said there was a big shortage in HP black ink. ? what next?....
I ordered some on Amazon. Going to set up scanner as my afternoon project, hopefully I can get wifi feature to work, don't have much luck with that. I usually have to get a cord.

Thanks for the heads up. My wife could not find any black HP ink and got an off brand 2 weeks ago. I ordered some from Amazon today. It makes sense of the shortage because of all the students and at home workers.

Also I have found there is no rubbing alcohol again in any of the stores.

Good afternoon, wow, what chilly temperatures many are seeing. Please do your best to keep that cold on your own side of the pond.

I don't know where the time disappeared this morning, I don't seem to have done anything useful other than fire up the range and insure the car. 65 must be a sweat spot age for insurance, it is costing just 」270 as long as I don't drive more than 8,000 miles in the next year. With Covid restrictions and my working days over, I won't get anywhere near that mileage.

Wng, great to hear that coco is happy again.

Rip, I think of a porch as a small cover over an entrance, no more than 3x the width of the door. Only when I saw the pics did I realise yours it a lot more work !

Took this picture a few days ago to get your opinion - do you think it is time to buy a new hose ? My wife walked over the top unaware of the leaks and got quite a shock

I started using the Smart Ink cartridges from Amazon. Cheaper and good quality.

Amazon.com: Smart Ink Compatible Ink Cartridge Replacement for HP 564XL 564 XL High Yield 1 Pack (4BK & 2C/M/Y) for HP 352 3521 3522 3:pA 461 462 4622 551 552 5522 651 6515 6525 652 B29a B21e B21a: Office Products

They cover most of the popular #s too.

The last time I bought HP ink cartridges, a sales lady at Walmart tried to sell me their off brand, but since I wasn't sure, I went elsewhere and bought genuine HP cartridges. I didn't know there was a shortage. At least I have some new ones on hand if or when I need them.

And I've gotten lots of emails from HP telling me that my printer is old enough that there is no service available for, so they want to sell me a new one. This one is still working just fine, or at least it was yesterday. But I know I'll be buying a new one when it does quit.

Good morning!!!!-slight-leak-jpg

I have gone through many, many garden hoses in my life, but a little over 8 years ago, I bought three Gilmour Flexogen hoses at The Home Depot; two 50 footers and one 75 foot. Supposedly a lifetime warranty. They stay on hose reels outdoors in the weather year round. Now they're thick and heavy and will not crimp, but so far not a single leak.

Looks like most of the water is still staying inside. It still has some life left in it. Don't be so hasty.

too funny. I looked at it and thought what a fine soaker hose... ;)

went to make my first smoothie with frozen fruit, chopped kale and ground flaxseed.
It came out in a frozen lump which is now thawing on countertop. Hmmm, next time I'll let fruit thaw
out first. Oops.

You should be able to get two or three more years out of it.

Saw a buck standing at the side of the road in a field on the way home Sunday night, and remarked to The Wife that it was the first buck I've seen all year. He wasn't big, but had a decent rack. I see does pretty much every morning. Fortunate to have never hit one.
-----------------------------
If you see deer beside the yep slow way down if it runs across the road for it's second or third deer or more try's to make the mad dash across the road ...learn lesson on motorcycle. ;)

Roy.
Thomas, if I recall, you have a deer feeder out on your property....how much does it hold?I'm thinking about getting one...not a hunter, don't like venison...love watching deer though.
-----------------------------
Feeder I built hold 150lbs...mixture of crack corn oats deer pellets.
Not sure about VT laws about feeding deer but I heard once it's against the law...may want to check.
Once you start feeding deer during the winter not wise to stop, and grain bill can be high last winter we spent over $1.300...8 to 17 deer feeding.
In NH if you feed the deer than your responsible for any damage with in certain distance to neighbors etc.

freaking deer, giant rodents on the loose...a terror to car grills everywhere.
Jammed on my brakes this morning to avoid a buck besides the road, which thankfully went back in the woods.
Paul/Popgadget, glad your wife is ok and that airbags didn't go off.

There used to be a drag strip in Elephant up your way, a favorite spot in high school. Unfortunately the noise upset the local cows and
much to my distress my attorney mother represented the farmers and got the place shut down. Never mentioned that to my friends for sure.

You are only about 12 miles from me. Did you get your Kubota in Pipersville or Doylestown? I bought mine in Doylestown when it used to be Histands.

The Dragstrip was Vargo Dragway, and it and the rest of the 100 acre farm that it is on s owned by my neighbor and good friend. There has been a reunion there every year for the last twenty years or so that brings 500-1000 cars. Not this year due to Covid-19 though. The drag strip is still there and licensed as a private airport.
From your description, I figure that you are close to Sugan and Laurel. I got my present Kubota from Eagle, but got previous ones from them when it was Histands.
Eagle is easier to deal with.......

I just got a call from the guy that hauled oil with me all summer. He is going to Timmins, ON tonight for a 10 AM unload time. He wanted to know if I had got my Jeep back yet, to which I said 'no' and he offered to haul my sorry butt up there so I could rescue the old girl.
I will not be online at all tomorrow. See you all on Thursday.

drive safely Bill.

Vargo dragway, great memories. Yes, right near Laurel Road above the township blg.

that frozen smoothie actually tasted pretty good once it thawed out. I forgot to put a banana in it which would have helped.
