67F and fog @ 10:45 with sun trying to peek through, clearing up and headed to a high of 77F later today. Tomorrow supposed to be nice as well.

Has been cool, overcast, and wet for the last several days.

Encountered huge lines at BoE the other day when we went into to vote so we drove on past as The Woman wasn't willing to wait at that point. Turnout looks to be huge in Ohio overall. Nice that they had a significant portion of the parking lot covered with tents over the line so folks didn't have to stand in the open ... :thumbsup:

Got some more metal straightening done on the discharge chute for the blower and chain cleaned, but mostly worked on straightening up shop. Got the junk in the parts washer removed and pump operating again, although it will probably need to be replaced (low flow) Solvent also needs drained and replaced and the tank itself cleaned out, due to the amount of sludge, oil, and grease in it. Thinking about replacing it with a water-based cleaner ... but open to any insights on that ... :confused3:

Need to refill bird feeders.

Off to Hilo town this morning. Makani gets his 3 rd set of puppy shots, Kekoa gets his semi annual update. Do some shopping while there.

59°F and clear skies with some spotty fog this morning, going up to 82° today. More rain coming again tomorrow. I guess mother nature is trying to make up for leaving us high and dry for over a month. Still OK with that.

I didn't get the rear wiper on mine, Roy, and sometimes wish I had. I think it'll be worth the wait, especially since you move a lot of snow.

RNG, is the power shut down just a precaution or is there a flareup of some of the near fires?

Since PG&E doesn't seem capable of maintaining their transmission infrastructure so that it will operate in a safe manner, they have to shut it off whenever the wind blows and the humidity drops. This is a direct result of deferring maintenance and upgrades for years beyond when they should have been done. But don't get me started...:irked:

Being in Texas and the work you do is going to stir up a lot of dust...IIRC, you're in drought conditions which make matters worse.
I use the front wiper for rain occasionally (I normally cease mowing when the rain starts). The rear window wiper is probably going to be just when the snow covers the window (an occasional occurence when snow blowing)

I bought a used HF parts washer that the PO had been using with some kind of water based cleaning fluid. He didn't bother to clean and rinse it out after each use, and the pump innards were shot, and the inside of the tank was badly corroded. Unfortunately I trusted the seller when he told me it was good as new, and ended up trashing it.

I found another used washer, this one a home built at a motorcycle dealership, and use Stoddard solvent in it. It's a low vapor point solvent I get at a local fuel depot for about $5/gallon. The washer uses an automotive type filter in the supply line, and that seems to do a pretty good job of catching debris and keeping the fluid clean. But I haven't seen the bottom of that tank in quite some time, so it's probably overdue for a good cleaning, too.
