Sounds like a good idea to me, I dare you to!!I've seen old backhoe buckets for $100 or less. Tempted to build a stump bucket out of one. Taking out small trees with one on loader is faster than backhoe and much easier since your pushing the tree over.
Everyone must have seen your post and ran out to build one. I was thinking of this last week and looked at a lot of backhoe buckets for sale, they all wanted a lot of money because of this new market you created!! I was speaking to my Bobcat dealer yesterday and he has a used Bobcat Digger Bucket on his lot that came in with a traded skid steer. When I hear back on the price next week I think I will pull the trigger on that and give it a try. It can dig moving forward and can also dig by back dragging. Everything is relative. The backhoe that fits my CT2025 would dig much better that my FEL with a digger. However, my FEL has much more breakout force than the backhoe that fits a JD 1025R and lots of people use those quite happily. If I can manage 60% of the jobs I want to be able to do at less than 10% of the price, I'll put that in the win column.I've seen old backhoe buckets for $100 or less.
