Your towing rigs and trailers

canyou get the mega ramps with the drive over fender? I called two ish years ago and spoke to someone who said that you could get the drive over fenders with regular stand up ramps or the standard 82" between fenders and mega ramps. if you can that's awesome and i will be looking into doing the same thing. also do you have enough space under the bushhog to flip the ramps over and lay them flat?

I’m not sure, they don’t offer it on the website but PJ, Sure-Trac and a few others make that same style of trailer. Sure-Trac has those smaller mega ramps, they are only about 2ft long, I think I could lift the bush hog high enough or pull the tractor far enough forward or backwards to close the mega ramps, couldn’t with the larger mega ramps.

My buddy has a 10k 18ft sure Trac, it’s been a **** good trailer so far, I borrow it every now and then, between us we have hauled a lot of stuff on that trailer. Based on that I would have confidence buying Sure-Trac. The only thing I don’t care for is the drive over deck trailer sure-Trac makes is a smooth steel with grip tape, most others are diamond plate there. Not sure how long grip tape will last and have to be reapplied.

I didn稚 plan to haul with weight on the fender. I figure if I back the Massey 98 up on the trailer I can better balance the load. The rest of the tractors fit in between fenders. Well my Bush Hog won稚 it痴 7ft wide.

Makes sense regarding balance. I had Diamond C custom build me a full-width 14.9K GVWR drive over fender LPX recently. I did electric over hydraulic disc brakes on it as well, which I highly recommend. I'm setting it up with a small knuckle boom crane and also a hydraulic winch, so I had them add a Honda hydraulic power-pack to it. They will build whatever you want, but of course a custom trailer costs more than a normal production unit.

I have to haul my M59 with the loader over the front to balance on my 20’ trailer. It goes on my 24” better. IMG_9144.JPG

Between harvest and the local fires, it's covered in dust/ash and tucked into a corner at the moment - not a good picture spot. When I start mounting the crane and winch this fall I'll take some pictures. So far the crane is on a pallet sitting on the deck, as is the winch. The crane hydraulically rotates, extends, lifts and has a hydraulic winch on it. Going to be a challenge to mount the control valves and all the hoses in a way that doesn't look like a messy yard sale. I think I will make the outriggers manual. Should be a fun project if I ever get around to it.

I would love to see it once it's finished...

Even the standard output Cummins in the 5500 pulls amazingly

Well 800 lbf-ft of torque is nothing to sneeze at. The beauty of a well calibrated diesel is that you can just sit there pumping away at full load. I'd like to feel what pulling a 48k lb load feels like.... Your 21k tare weight is more than I've ever hauled loaded, lol.
