Agreed. They don稚 get along with truck tailgates like that.

That depends on the trailer and hitch being used.

My ironbull started out with the jack mounted at the front of the deck as shown, .

Eventually I moved the jack forward to make room for a winch mount as shown, .

On this trailer with the hitch I'm using I can open the tailgate without hitting the jack.

I have no experience with Rice trailers, but would second Rock Crawler's suggestion to get a 102" wide trailer with the drive over fenders. It doesn't look like Rice trailers makes one, but a quick internet search shows that PJ Trailers makes a 14k trailer with drive over fenders and their Monster Ramps which are equivalent to the Max ramps on the Rice trailer.

I have no idea how the PJ compares in price, but it also has the jack set back at the front of the deck so it does not interfere with your truck tailgate, etc.

Maxx-D and many other manufactures also make 14k trailers with drive over fenders, but I am unsure how many offer the full width fold-flat ramps.

This the 14,000 gross Iron Bull (sub brand of Norstar trailers in Texas) with the drive over. The jack is in the rear position, but simply unbolts and you move it to the front have plate of you desire.

You can get the flip up ramps, or what I went with is the slide out under deck ramps. The fenders are rated at 4k lbs each. I'm extremely impressed with the build, it's a very well built heavy duty hauler that pulls behind me as smooth as butter even with a 10k lb mini excavator while ripping through the mountains at 70 mph.

I like that trailer. I can't seem to find it on their website and that attachment you posted doesn't work.

Maybe I'm confused about the brand, but I could swear Load Trail was one of the brands I put on my black list when I was trailer shopping because the welds were garbage and the undersides were unpainted bare steel (several, maybe even most trailers are sold this way).

I suspect you will find your trailer is like mine in that you will need to make another mount plate and weld it to the jack if you move the jack to the front. The mount on the front of the deck is higher than the mount on the tongue so if you were to just turn the jack 180 degrees and use the same jack mount plate it will end up extending too low causing the jack foot to be dragging a lot.

I bought that trailer almost 3 years ago. I still like it a lot and it is the trailer I use the most out of the 3 that I have. The 2' dovetail makes loading stuff a lot easier. My son in law recently purchased a similar trailer without the dovetail and he said he wished he had it on his. I still wished I had ordered the smaller D-rings.

I see that you are in Maine and probably wouldn't want to get a trailer made in Texas, but this might give you some ideas of what you may want to order on your trailer. As I mentioned in my video, you will be much happier if you order it built the way YOU want it, instead of buying off the lot.
