Low and behold, my hay guy said he'll sell this one to me real cheap after he uses it one more time. Good stuff! PXL_20201004_171820752.jpegPXL_20201004_175335004.jpegPXL_20201004_175339132.jpegPXL_20201004_175344322.jpeg

That's a good one!!!! Double shafted does a much better job.

My neighbor gave me a 7' single shaft, every other wheel notched. I don't have a pic. I'll try to get one tomorrow. I've used it several times and it works great.

Awesome! This one is 7' total, so probably 6' at the wheels.

Sweet deal... are you going to leave it a tow behind or weld up a 3ph connection for it?
I'm super stoked. I was thinking to convert it if my quad has a problem moving it. I'll let you guys know what he ends up selling it to me for.

I would find a way to attach it to the 3 PH. There are areas where I would not want to drag it.

Never seen a dual shaft unit...it looks awesome.

I paid $150.00 for this one,

The "Crow Foot" (pictured above) cultipacker seem to be the best design...

I've never saw one like that.

I think the design would be geographically specific. Varied designs for varied soil types.

Looking for advice on a good 3 point cultipacker to purchase

Field Tuff Cultipacker options are available to pull behind a tractor, UTV or ATV, and there are three point hitch kits available.

Tractor Supply and Northern Tool both sell three different cultipackers from Field Tuff and the associated 3PH kit.

48" roller tubes are less than $400; 48" solid wheels ~$500-600; and the 72" solid wheels ~$800. I bought the 72" solid wheels model that weighs 400 pounds a year or two ago for $629 during a Cyber Monday or other sale. Works good to press grass seed into disturbed earth after broadcast spreading.

Midway USA has the $1100 model of the 72" Field Tuff Cultipacker that weighs 500 pounds and allows you to add cinder blocks or other additional weight.

There are other brands online for higher prices and they're typically heavier (e.g. Palletforks.com has a 72" model at 600 pounds, but it's over $2K, crazy).

Building your own cultipacker is an attractive alternative to ~$2+ per-pound purchase price, but you'll need a welder and something heavy that will roll.
