Saw Fleetwood Mac in a small place in Seattle before they became really popular.The older music was a lot different than their music after their regroup

Same here. I am running out of Artists I admire and listen to. Not a great fan of the music of today. I may have become tone deaf but it all sounds the same.

My wife and I saw Jersey Boys last fall. It was pretty good. Less musical and more story-like. I read and interview with Tommy DeVito and he said it was actually about 85% accurate, so he was happy with it.

Same here. As a rock fan, it seems to me that the '70s was the best times for music. None of the popular bands sounded alike. Not even close. Everyone had their own unique sound.

At some point in the '90s, everyone started sounding like that one band, who was trying to sound like another band, who was trying to sound like Pearl Jam. Now, I can't tell who's who. They're all pretty much the same wall of noise with unintelligible singers.

I don't know about that. I sometimes have trouble telling some of them apart .. The Beatles, The Pretty Things, The Animals, The Hollies and a few others all sound fairly close. I've got a couple of Stones cuts that sound a lot like The Doors and vice versa.

I never had any trouble distinguishing bands back then. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Yes, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, ELP, ELO, Rush, Kansas, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Van Halen, Triumph, The Who ... none of those bands sounded like anyone else. When a new song was released, I always knew immediately who it was just by their signature sound.

Maybe.... But no one sounded like Jimi Hendrix, he was his own.

Now, I can't tell who's who. They're all pretty much the same wall of noise with unintelligible singers.

If you haven't already, you should at least try Coheed & Cambria. So far, I have In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, and Unheavenly Creatures.
