Pretty good snow storm today in the Rockies. Only a few inches buildup; the warm ground melted a lot of it before things cooled down.

Wow, already! It's only 50 degrees here in Western Missouri this morning. I was close to heat exhaustion last week working outside, quick change to jacket weather.

Nooooooo!

YESSSSS!

Monday it was 94 F, this morning 28F and most of a foot of hard snow overnight. Couple of hummingbirds was still here yesterday during the storm. I got up early this morning to put out food for it. Our high altitude (Broadtail) hummingbirds can stand a surprising amount of cold.

Good friend lives in Alamosa Colorado. Sent me these two pics this morning. Heavy wet snow which is very rare for them.

My son is in Steamboat Springs. Haven't heard if they got any. I know temperatures were warm early this week and also freeze warnings. Jon

My son lives in Craig Colorado but works in Steamboat. Colorado has a good road condition web site with a lot of cameras. It looks like they closed Rabbit Ears Pass for a while.

I mounted my blower two days ago. Should not need it for another 6-8 weeks but better to be prepared and have it all set up. Just need to add the front blade but that is easy and I need to get my firewood moved with the pallet forks before the blade goes on.

We're a month away from first frost. Hasn't felt like it for the past three days. :)

Monarch Pass, near my old hometown, was closed too. In todays on line version of the paper there it said there was up to 18" in some places.

Monday blew out all of the water from outside water lines and hoses, and rolled up the hoses and put them away for the season.

Tuesday morning low was 20 degrees F with a high of 54.

This morning warmer with a low of 30 and maybe a high of 72.

Won't be long and I will be pounding the snow markers in the ground before the ground freezes, and I will be wearing long johns for about 6 months.

There's snow down to about 5,600' on the mountains in the Bob (Bob Marshall Wilderness).

WoW!! OVRSD - that's more than a beginning of the season skiff. It's a real mess. Bet that gives the chipmunks & squirrels reason to pause.......

Alamosa, Colorado sure has a good start to there annual snowfall average of about 28" which seems low for an area that is 7,544' elevation.
