Thomas,

Hear ya on the pick ... I was digging out roots yesterday with a mattock. Didn't take too long before I feeling some muscles I'd forgotten about ...

Kinda surprise deer haven't keep hostas trim or even pull the plants roots and all.

They do (keep them trimmed) to some extent. And they were pulling some of the newly transplanted ones up ... until I sprayed the plants with Bonide "Shotgun".

;)

Good evening all. 70F for the start, clear sky, calm wind Another light wind day, clouds built up some in afternoon, and high temp was 96F. Humidity will return tomorrow, and the chance of rain. Walk with wife, cleaning lady prep, bike ride. This afternoon, help neighbor with his 1 1/2 horse Evinrude outboard. Replaced carb with rebuilt one, no gas leak the jets adjust and runs decent, he was happy. still got nap in :)

Mass exodus from Laura coming through Giddings since this morning. Hoping people get out of the way. Saying it will be major storm when it hits Tx/ La border.

A lot to catch up on. Once I get behind, it's hard for me to catch up. Seems when we leave town, we get some rain. Got .5" when we were up in Ft. Worth area Saturday.

Nice photos guys! A lot to catch up on.

RNG, hope the fires stay at bay. I still say a pool. Dual use. Girls in bikinis might come over too. :)

Buppies,

I tend to agree sir!

David

Yes! Hope your other place sells too. A 12K trailer would haul your tractor best, but how often do you expect to haul it? Call your dealer and ask who hauls for them. Then figure out what you want to do.

72 going to 90. Maybe a storm this afternoon.

Ground still very moist, dried less than expected yesterday due to high humidity all day.

RS, real nice flower bed you've made.

Had a nice surprise visit by our middle son and girlfriend yesterday after noon. Hadn't seen since Christmas. Went for a short hike and played with their dogs.

I think today is gonna be a great day.

Glad you got to see your son and his gf.

Good morning! 66 now, 89 later. Chance of storms today. We really need the rain.

RS, I was in that Saturday night rain. Was just west of Alliance driving home from Salem. Was hoping we got some here, but no....

Had a good night at the races Saturday. 3 2nds and won the 450 Pro class. Kyle knows how tough the competition is in that class.

Had some more ash trees down. Spent Saturday morning dragging them into an easier place to cut up and move to the wood pile.

Got the week off....got vacation time to burn before Sept. 1. Probably gonna be a busy week.

Everyone stay safe out there

Congrats. Have to admit, I've only watched the Friday night races, haven't had time yet to watch Saturday's...

On my kubota, without rear hydraulic valves there was a cover that got removed to hook up the rear hydraulic lines that goes to the valves. . I壇 ask the dealer if he has the cover that goes there, he should have a bunch if he routinely adds valves to new tractors. He probably throws them away. The cover connected supply to return, which now is rerouted thru the valves.
View attachment 667339
The valve stack bolts to the other end of this supply/return
View attachment 667340
The valves have orings to seal between surfaces, if one got installed wrong it won稚 work. Or problem is internal to valve.

Stack gets bolted thru all valves.

Looks like good advise/advice to me.

Good morning, rain has been hammering down all night and is set to keep coming for the rest of the day. Really windy too, a few tree branches are down. I suppose looking on the bright side, no trudging around fields with a knapsack sprayer today :)

Yesterday morning after a bump on the head, my wife suddenly started seeing flashes in one eye. Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, so I know flashes are generally a harmless side effect of getting older, however they may also be a sign on an impending retinal detachment, so it is very important to get it checked out within 24 hours. She talked to our optician in the morning, after which she got an emergency appointment to see a different optician in another town. After a drive at slighter higher speeds than normal we made it there on time, with Covid-19 helping to provide space in the nearest car park. Fortunately the tests showed no major issues and we returned home to spend what was left of the dry and sunny afternoon at a much relaxed pace.

Hope your wonderful wifey is OK. I see stars every now and then after bending over or something, and then getting up too quickly.

Randy, hope your cut is better.

Thanks for the prayers team!

And prayers for our team.

54 right now...high in the mid-60's today...my kind of weather!

Pretty strong storm when driving home...it had hit Bethel and moved south. It was fast moving though..

Woke up too early...about 0100. Had a cigaret and then went back to bad...just tossed and turned until about 0230...got up and on the computer

Good morning, rain is easing, forecaster is talking in background right now, promising the gale will have blow out by this afternoon. It seems that locally these have been the highest ever sustained winds in August. The wind is from the south with sheep holding tight in a well sheltered field. I am off out now to see if anything has dropped on the northern boundary fences before I let them roam further.

Hope Laura behaved herself during her visit over on your side.

Good Morning,

Haven't checked in here in a loooong time.

Was trying to add a photo to the post here, but it does not seem to be working - OR, more likely, I don't know how to attach it. :) My BX23S with sun shade canopy, and ROPS fully up, clears my standard 7 ft high garage door by about 1.5 inches --- I was impressed. THEN we put the tractor on 5 inch ramps so that we could service it - then it cleared the open door (above) by only about .75 inches.

Now to clean up the garage and find the workbench back.

Have a great day everyone !

Quick stop to say no joy(cold) in Mudville today! Unit in the attic was 120 ac and all the new ones are 220 ac. Now we need to wait for an electrician to upgrade/pull new wires.Ugh!
At least today is 55 degrees now only going to 70. Still humid but better than 80's and 90's. Installer promises to have us up and running even if he has to come sunday. Wood install start is monday and temps are going to be warm.
At least I finished the painting and the master bedroom is now ready for flooring.
Stay safe and healthy all! Hope storms don't cause to much damage.

good morning all.
going to be a hot day, 77 out now, headed up to low 90's and hotter tomorrow.
I'll be inside the local hospital all day, starting off with a PET scan, then oncologist to hear results, then chemo infusion.
Can't eat or drink before scan, so packing some PBJ's to eat later.
I hope to hear some good news today.

looks like Laura will go North of here this weekend. Buckeye, you should get plenty of rain from this.

We need rain, very dry, grass turning brown again. Unfortunately cantalope and pepper plants in garden wilted over the weekend.
Some grass could be mowed
Getting dark out, storming to the west, but they miss us or dry up before they get to us.

Sorry critters got your peaches, they did that to my sweetcorn.

Well the rain didn’t miss us, .64 in about 40 minutes, wind and lightening. Knocked out power for about 10 seconds, long enough that I have to reset everything. It takes the Comcast box about 3-4 minutes to reboot so I missed the good part of the car show I was watching. Oh well, at least it was short term.
Grandsons ballgame and outdoor car club meeting this evening.
Gotta get moving, have a great day!
