Poured first cup of coffee. 60° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 89° with sunny skies. Got garden pond maintenance done yesterday. Then stayed in house and stayed cool rest of the day. Going to work on last 2 pieces of siding that need repairing until its to hot to work. They are on south side of house in the sun.
I have been watering neighbors flowers this lately. So I took pictures while doing it.

Don, pure sine wave works better on most electronics. I had a modified sine wave in motorhome at one time. TV did not like running one it.

RNG, A Ca Ching for your DeoxIT recommendation. Son used it on connections of his truck. He thinks it was the tire pressure sensors control that was causing problem. It will put truck into reduces power mode. So many small ECU's going to main ECM that dealer could not find problem.

Buppies, hot weather for outdoor work.

Drew, wear a bib. I do OK so far with keeping shirts clean. But my wife left me a large supply of them when needed.

RS, gardens are looking good.

Buckeye, sounds like good visit to Dad and a safe trip home.

Wngsprd, Son visit.

Randy, last time I needed a fresh copy of Birth Certificate I bought 3 of them. But I could find only one of them for my trip to DMV. But they never asked for it when doing my license renewal.

Eric, yes. Scrolling a form to add data should be left for a younger person. List should start around 1900.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

local firetruck has now been put on a dewatering mission. So much rain in last few weeks the retention areas are filling up, swamping one
old and tired IH tractor. Big fifth wheel rv above me has an interesting flag pole attachment to rear hitch, never saw one so elaborate.
Lastly there is a simply enormous collection of railroad ties on next property over, must be twenty rows of them to right of pic.
Wonder what the story is on that, whether any will be
used for this campground property.

Good morning! 66 now, 89 later. Chance of storms today. We really need the rain.

RS, I was in that Saturday night rain. Was just west of Alliance driving home from Salem. Was hoping we got some here, but no....

Had a good night at the races Saturday. 3 2nds and won the 450 Pro class. Kyle knows how tough the competition is in that class.

Had some more ash trees down. Spent Saturday morning dragging them into an easier place to cut up and move to the wood pile.

Got the week off....got vacation time to burn before Sept. 1. Probably gonna be a busy week.

Everyone stay safe out there

Good morning to all! No real weather changes. A barely formed t-storm gave a couple of rumbles and a few spits, but never really materialized anything more. Supposed to cool down into the upper 80's for a couple days towards the end of the week.

Did a little shop time yesterday, decided to do a project on the RV that has been on the list for about a year.... not that important, so always got "bumped". I have had two deep cycle gel batteries for the RV, but they would not fit in the existing tray. So, I was finally able to weld up a new tray for them. Today it should get installed.... but, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the mount... I may try to go longitudinal vs. lateral with them. Which means maybe modifying the tray that I just made....

RS, the landscaping beds are looking good! When you run out of work, you could always come and help out here!

Thomas, good luck with the retaining wall project. Hope it goes smoothly!

Drew, is the RV park still somewhat full? I would imagine if they are doing a big expansion, there would be a need to do so in order to justify the cost....

Everyone have a great start to the week!

Drew, I had a flag pole and mounts like the ones in picture. Bottom is designed to be under a tire. Works OK until wind blows pole into side of RV. One in picture is best way to put a flag pole up. Use trailer hitch.

Ted, the campground has two open spots out of 13. In fact I'm likely to ask to move to them, near that big fifth wheel, since they sit out by themselves and do not involve
two lines of rvs backed into each other. They did it that way to combine two utility stations in one spot, raised wooden structures as this area floods in bad hurricanes. But it forces the inhabitants to be closer together than normal, hence my issues with noise. The downside of moving is that I leave an area in the lee of a wood line, which blocks the wind from that direction. Since hurricane season is upon us, not sure the loss of wind protection is a good idea.

I think the owner here saw an opportunity, plus he was tired of losing money trying to farm the local fields. There are two rv camps in this area, and several more down near Washington to the East. The other campground nearby is more elaborate, has an office, BUT, no sewer hookups, only a dump station. My campground, while otherwise having zero amenities, at least has "full" hookups. So since lack of permanent septic hookups will keep folks away from the competition, which is right down the street on the same side of the road, I think my owner wants to capitalize on that by offering more full hookups. We are near a county seat, with a big hospital and university (ECU) so that lack of other nearby campgrounds seems odd. Plus the nicer one in Washington almost never has any available room. So there is demand here, and certainly in this particular time when rv'ing has become a hot commodity. I can only assume the owner has to turn a number of folks away so he has tracked demand.

Lot of infrastructure cost to build a new rv campground, like building a new marina. Not sure how much owner is doing himself. Lot of electric, water and sewer lines to run, and then the area has to be able to supply the extra load, particularly septic. The area being built on is physically "up" about another ten feet, which would help with the flooding problems. Tar River not too far from here and has history of bad flooding when wind pushes the water upstream.

just had a raisin bagel, which was good. Sugar free strawberry jam on it wasn't...too much gelatin and not enough fruit.
Unlike the good English marmalade...

Good morning-72 going up to 89 and sunny
This weekends rain was about 3 drops-so back to watering the newer plants.
Took down 2 more Ash trees- set one down exactly between 2 other trees with no damage to either:cool2:
The other tree was about 26" diameter, but about 80' tall. Biggest I have taken down by myself. stretched from my property all the way to the forest border by my neighbors garage. Felled it in the direction I wanted to so it hit a smaller dead ash next to it and pushed it down ( a 2 for 1!)
Then it was cleanup.
Sunday was supposed to rain so did shopping etc. Rewired some flourescents for LED bulbs. Installed new cable modem, router etc. so I can stop paying the $14/month to the cable company to rent that POS.
Then did a complete clean out of my chain saw so it's ready for the next tree to fall.

Stay safe and be well.

70°F and partly cloudy this morning with a little light fog, going up to 96° today. August has returned.

Got the blades sharpened on the zeroturn Saturday morning, and mowed the backyard and the pasture. Called it quits after that. Bumpy ground in the pasture really beat me up this week.

Foster dog decided she didn't like being in the crate Saturday night, and barked in protest all night. Literally, all night. No sleep to be had in our house that night. On the bright side, The Wife called and talked with someone on Sunday who has applied for adoption. Said she sounds promising. Nadia may have her new furever home in the next week or so. Wife says - once again - that she's going to take a break from fostering after this one. We'll see ...

Finished mowing Sunday morning. Got started later than I wanted, but finished before it got very hot. Finally got the burn pile lit in the pasture, and it burned with a passion. A light breeze from the south fed it nicely.

Talked with The Wife about another larger zeroturn for the pasture. She's mowed it a couple of times and agrees a 60" would be much more efficient. We'll still keep the 42" Husqvarna, because a 60" won't get into many of the tight places near the house. We talked about trading the Husqvarna rider, but we both like that one as a convenient utility mower / trailer hauler. So, I guess we'll just add another mower. As it happens, the $100/year thing didn't get any traction, so I'm probably just going to find something lightly used. Going to have to do some rearranging in the barn to fit three mowers and a tractor in there. May just wait until the end of the season to find a good deal on one.

I wouldn't worry too much about your plate expiration, Drew. In Illinois, and it seems in Missouri as well, police generally won't pull people over until it's more than 30 days past expiration. Even the money-hungry state of Illinois doesn't start charging a late fee until it's beyond 30 days. I suspect you'll be fine (no pun intended).

While check game cams this morning Doe step from the thick wooded area about 60' than all of sudden 3 blur's went scooting by,3 fawns in which we've yet to see this year and they we're chasing one another around in field  things you see when you don't have camera. :(
.

Don’t line the animal pics by size, they don’t like to be critter sized.

This has worked really good for Whipper (the barking dog that doesn't fetch). Please pass the info to the new owners so she won't be returned. After two weeks of the non-shocking collar she no longer needs it, amazing, and 5 stars from Amazon.
