My guess is few here use their tractor within city limits.

90% of my tractoring is city...

What say you?

Country - Floyd County, Virginia, USA - 210 acres of hilly mostly wooded land - don't have as many toys to play on as you do!

Lancaster County and about 1-1/2 miles to a small town (although "town" is sneaking up on us).

Lawrence county South Dakota. I used to contract mow for a city in Wyoming.

Yep... seen this a lot as cities expand or form.

Brothers tree farm is an Island of county and he can hunt and shoot and do AG burns.

City is on the other side of frontage road and parkland to rear...

Interesting topic.

1 acre 400 yards from city limits. Expected to be annexed 20 years ago, but haven't yet. Not sure why not. Our neighborhood couldn't organize a bake sale, let alone a legal battle. It's probably that they are all older homes of lower value that wouldn't generate any tax income and would cost $$ to provide sewer, water, fire, etc... hopefully it'll never happen.

We also have 20 acres further out in the county. That'll never be annexed anywhere, although the highway could be widened, I suppose. Maybe 10-12 hours tractoring per year out there.

When our kids were school-age, I did a majority of my tractoring inside city limits at their school, church, and little league ballpark. Probably 4-5 hours mowing/facilities maintenance average per week there VS only half an hour mowing at home.

I live in city but on mountain side way back and can throw rock onto city/town line.

County, don't want the hassles of living in town.

I live on the very edge of the county line. A whole lot closer to the adjoining county than a town of any size. 80 acres.

South Central Pa here. Small rural village surrounded by farms. In the valley between a mountain, and rolling ridges to the next mountain. Closest "city" is about 18 miles. A few small towns within 5 miles or so. Country life, tractor life, is good.

Live between two growing cities but still in the country. Few farms left. 140 acres of a 1000 acre land grant from North Carolina before state of Tennessee. 4 eminent domains for the greater good. Homestead cabin still here. Kid by wife by telling her someday people will pay to see a farmer then we’ll be rich!

Looking like City TBN is pretty rare so far.

Ive been using my 110TLB in the city limits lately on two places to clean up some wooded areas. It will be going back to the farm soon though. Got a fence project over there.

I live in the county about three miles from a village but ten miles from the city. I'm on one acre with fruit and pecan trees. The sale of the pecan nuts pays for the taxes and some of the cost of water.

Probably because larger parcels that would require a tractor aren't typically found inside city limits. There are very few lots of 1/4 acre or larger in our town. Very few. You see even just a few riding mowers in town. Our old house was a typical city lot, and as I recall, it was 65' x 135'. We lived on a corner, and that measurement was inside of the sidewalks.

My father bought about 15 acres right on the city limits back in the late 50's and sub-divided it into a neighborhood. There were about 17 houses on it. He kept a tad over 1 acre for himself. All the other lots were well under 1 acre. The 1 acre he kept for himself was actually 3/4 acre and 1/4 acre separate lots, and he built a house for his parents on that other lot when they were elderly.

I recall only 2 people having riding mowers on that block growing up. My folks got the 3rd one after I moved out. Why have a rider when you have a child to push a mower?

We're in Chicago's farther out suburbs, unincorporated so we fall under county jurisdiction. We're on 2.6 acres, one of the smaller lots around here.
