Must have: angle grinder, recip saw, all the sockets (inch, metric, deep, etc), a good drill, all the clampy stuff (vise, clamps, vise grips, etc).
Nice to have: drill press, metal band saw, welder.
Real nice to have: mill, lathe. Bonus: a dro on both.

Must have shop items... the list is never ending. Today I just added a precision keyless chuck on my drill press after all these years fussing with a key, misplacing, stripping a couple teeth and having to buy replacement, where do you store it... bla, bla, bla...

Thanks. The wheelchair had some broken spokes and was bought for ten dollars. I fixed it. Real handy for sit down projects.

Part of my problem is the $32,000 need just to bring in power. The other part of the problem is the $48,000 just to put up an insolated building with a roof strong enough to support 160 pounds per square foot to support our snow loads.

A 24x36 or a 32x48 with a 12/12 or even 10/12 pitch metal roof will shed snow after 4" accumulation, so no load to speak of and provide space upstairs for storage or living - cost would be $30-50K Then solar panels with inverter and storage with a genset will set you back $15-20K.

Oh... I need a Magdrill!

I bought one in early 70's and sold it to fund a career change. Bought another one 10 years ago and only time it gets used is when a friend borrows it to do some work for his company. I don't mind because they have helped by keeping me informed of auctions when they go to sell stuff!
