These graphs would be far more informative if they showed the Positives and Deaths as a percentage of the population

Pretty sure the graphs include contact info on Twitter for the author down at the bottom.

Feel free to give him a holler and let him know your thoughts ...

Just reported on the Austin news:
Of the 140 cases in central Texas only 5 require hospitalization.

Texas has canceled elective surgeries and that as resulted in opening an extra 3,000 beds.

81% of the cases reported have mild symptoms.

In China (where the data is from) they included things like pneumonia in the 80%. I don't know anybody in the US who considers pneumonia to be "mild"!!

Pneumonia is not a symptom it's a diagnosis.

From my source 8% of coronavirus patients have mild symptoms — here'''s what they are - Business Insider which you quoted:
"Patients with severe cases are more likely to have shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and fluid in their lungs. Usually, they'll require care from a medical professional."

Why blame labor? Why not blame greedy capitalists who want workers to work for free and the highest profits they can get. Unions - The people that brought you weekends off.

There is a balance .. you may fail to perceive?

“greedy capitalists who want workers to work for free and the highest profits they can get. “

Uh ... no. That’s a bit biased .. IMHO.

“The people that brought you weekends off”

Again no. If not traveling on business .. I’ve always had weekends off and never been part of a union.

OR if manufacturers and their executives did not demand such extravagant salaries and bonuses etc...they could cut the profit margins...Then take the majority of the profit away from the shareholders...it would do the same thing ten fold...but that ain't gonna happen either...!
That profit margin is what's going to pay for my retirement as well as the retirement of anybody who has a retirement 401k or a pension that invests in the stock market.
That's who most of the shareholders for large publicly traded companies are.

As for executive compensation, if you're comparing executive compensation overtime are you also comparing the size of the company?

If a CEO in 1969 had 1000 people working for them and made 150x the average salary of those employees.
If the same CEO in 2020 has 3000 people working for them and makes 300x the average salary, that would be less pay with more responsibility.

USA is now #1 in confirmed cases 85377!. Surpassed China 81340 & Italy 80589. More testing = more cases.

Amazing how the numbers stop growing when you stop testing...

Yep. Look at the China chart. one day had a big jump. Lots of space between the dots... Then nothing. Just day after day of nearly level dots. Slight upward.. Something happened. Lets hope the virus just quit...Lets hope the Chicom's didn't actually fudge the data... Lets all hope.

The $1200 is an advance payment of a 202 Tax Credit. If you didn't file in '18 or '19 and don't get the credit now, you can when you file your '20 taxes.

Also, I'm pretty sure most facilities will be helping patients file whatever is necessary to get that $1200, since it will be going to them in many cases.

The last stimulus bill did nothing but prevent the economy/markets from reaching a natural bottom where a full recovery could begin...that stimulus is why the recovery took so long...
IMO...this stimulus bill is just keeping the pilot light lit...so when it's time to turn up the gas on the economy...it goes boom...!

It’s not a “stimulus” as in 2009 when the economy was upside down because of government stooopidity.

This is a “rescue” for those individuals and businesses, thru no fault of their own, we’re damaged by the virus and resultant business shutdowns.

Before February our economy was strong!

^^^^^
Before February our economy was strong!

It also was long overdue for an adjustment... although not of this magnitude.

We can't even call this a recession; somebody just flipped a switch and shut the economy off.
Overreaction, as some are saying? Perhaps, but it hopefully will give the medical and manufacturing community time to prepare for those who will be needing their assistance.
