People who invest their hard earned money in equities shouldn't share in the profitability of the company, they invest in, with increased share prices? They certainly take the hit when share prices retract!

Why would ANYONE invest then?

I should have clarified I really meant "insider" shareholders...eliminate those machinations and there would be more money for labor, more money for quality and more money for the common shareholder...

If the IRS doesn't have a 2018 or 2019 tax return with your name on it, it can pull information from a 2019 Form SSA-1099, Social Security Benefit Statement, or Form RRB-1099, Social Security Equivalent Benefit Statement, to calculate your stimulus check amount.

I wonder if they'll DD to the same bank as SS payments?

As I recall last time a huge amount of the money that went out had non-disclosure conditions because the government was afraid that naming the recipients could cause a run on weak banks. That secrecy turned out to be a mistake because much of that money reappeared to be used to buy and consolidate competitors or to maintaining the existing level of bonuses instead of trickling down to re-hire laid off workers. Hopefully this one will work better. Do we know what proportion of the stimulus is going to individuals this time?

All the media posts Hospitals are overwhelmed, swamped.

My local hospital stopped elective surgery weeks ago. Built all kinds of special rooms for this crisis. They have one coronavirus patient. One!
Now the hospital is basically a ghost town. Most employees are being forced to not work, because thereç—´ no scheduled work.

Really makes you question media hype , and political decisions.

So , a big hospital, empty, doing nothing, and the employees not working. ....

Since I don't know where you are should I be concerned about this information or not? If it's my local hospital you are talking about I definitely should be. If it's a hospital in China, not so much.

To do direct deposit the IRS needs your bank account # and bank routing #. Paper to the rest. I'm speculating the paper could take a few months. :confused3: We will know more when the IRS updates their website.

Yep, that little inconvenient fact is always forgotten. The auto makers and many others started going overseas as a result of the exorbitant and escalating hourly labor cost.

So... why are those who are already receiving government checks, subsidies, etc still getting a stimulus check?

I sure agree with you on this, we have been supporting these people for generations and they are always 1st in line for govt. hand outs. It's been going on for as long as I can remember and there is no end in sight.

I was asked to repost this over here. And is more of a wake up call for the folks that aren't taking this seriously or not worried because it isn't in there area

My wife knows over 40 people that have covid 19 here. That number will probably increase once they finish testing the facility. The nursing facility she used to work at got hit hard. My wife's last day was on a friday. One of the residents had some family come in from florida over the weekend and that's where they figured the infection came from. But to be honest, they really have no idea how it came into the facility. Before it was discovered, the virus went through the facility like a tornado through a trailer park

When the patient tested positive, it was 12 days after my wife had left the facility. Thankfully my wife wasn't infected since she had transferred to another nursing facility.
