....I fully believe income is irrelevant. The more you make, the more you have to spend to do so.

The printing presses are rolling money out like crazy and everyone wants their piece of the pie. Uhoh...is that socialism?

I've wondered when is it worth putting the economy at risk by shutting everything down? That is, how many lives can be written off as just bad luck/wrong place, wrong time? Certainly people die every day for many reasons, and while we try to minimize risk, we don't ban automobile traffic because people die in cars.

I don't know the answer, and would love to hear others perspective on this.

So far, this is what I've come up with. It becomes a problem when it is a significant portion of the daily deaths that would occur otherwise.

However, even that has to be clarified based on region, as hotspots crop up. I looked up NY State mortality statistics and was surprised to find, on average, 404 people die a day. It's been consistent for years.

NY is now having about 150 (I'm not sure of the exact number) deaths per day from COVID-19, and it is continuing to climb. That is problematic for me, and points to a significant crises on the horizon.

Maybe some other areas will get away with fewer mortalities, but I worry that while they appear to be in the clear, that situation will change dramatically in the next few weeks.

Few days ago, I posted a predictive article from ZeroHedge where the writer looked at death total doubling about every 3 days.

Edit.....link won't copy

and this chart:

united-states-coronavirus-deaths.png

The article predicted 800 total on March 26th, and 12,800 on April 7th. To date, 6pm 3/26, the author's figures are off, unfortunately to the high side. Total today is 1100 (and will likely be revised upward tomorrow sometime on the chart), so his figures, so far, were conservative. April 7 is 12 days out. I'll post again then.

Well since he is in the Hospital now with the virus, pretty darn stupid.
It is better to either get it early or very late not at the top of the curve where medical treatment may not be available. We are not at the top of the curve yet and the commode licker is getting medical treatment.

Yes, he is young and brainless. He is likely to survive. AND he will likely reproduce.

Are they seriously going to be sending hard copy checks to everyone eligible?...direct deposit is much more antiseptic...and they already have everyone on SS account info...??

Executive over-pay is a contributor to the difference in costs between US manufacturing and China mfg.

You dont have to look far for reasons that US mfg is being decimated.

Did you ever consider the union induced high cost of labor for even a second?

Direct deposit to everyone on file with IRS from 2018 or 2019. Paper to the rest.

OR if manufacturers and their executives did not demand such extravagant salaries and bonuses etc...they could cut the profit margins...Then take the majority of the profit away from the shareholders...it would do the same thing ten fold...but that ain't gonna happen either...!

People who invest their hard earned money in equities shouldn't share in the profitability of the company, they invest in, with increased share prices? They certainly take the hit when share prices retract!

Why would ANYONE invest then?

I just did some reading re the stimulus checks. You have to file an ?8 or ?9 return. If your bank info is on the return they値l direct deposit and you値l get the money faster. No bank info means you get a paper check and wait longer.

Its not socialism if you are an airline, cruise ship line, bank, etc, anybody who uses lobbyists, receiving that stimulus check.

Let there NOT be a #7

Well there you go... still on #6! And it's FRIDAY morning. Definitely Friday. I double checked. :)

All of the restaurants have gone into 'take-away' mode, so I decided to support one last night and got an excellent Thai green curry with jasmine rice. Paired it with a chilled bottle of Tasmanian Gewurztraminer. YUM! :licking:
