In the spirit of posting some good news ........

At work the CEO sends out a weekly email and the following was included this week.

When I went to Aldi for cat food, tooth paste and bread at lunch time (and amazingly I bought nothing from the middle aisle), I looked at the down trodden cashier. The young bloke was on auto pilot, over it, customer focus or even a smile had been beaten out of him by rude customers for who knows how long. So I also purchased a double snickers bar and as I grabbed my stuff he was pushing the chocolate bar towards me and I said Nah mate I bought that for you. To which he gave me a What? And I responded Yes I bought it for you to say thanks and make up for all the a-holes you have had to put up with. He had a smile and a chuckle that money couldn't buy. And the rest of the line of customers caught the smile and the positive vibe as well.

So take the challenge. Friend, workmate, foe or even a complete stranger who can catch your smile today?

I worry that a lot of folks who had stress issues or even psychological issues like depression before this pandemic showed up
are going to have a hard time coping. All the more reason to do something nice, buy a meal for the person behind you in the drivethru,
let them go ahead in traffic if it's safe. We can all do a lot of nice things to calm stressed folks down if we are aware it would really help.

We may be tough self reliant guys but a lot of folks aren't and we all live together.
Every day is an opportunity for kindness.
This is a particularly good time to be kind.

I watched faces in the supermarket. Not many smiles. Best I could do was just thank the cashier.

My coworker just lost a friend to Covid-19-very sad. Our CEO had a group call today and he cheered us up while making sure we followed the rules by state/country. He is trying to make sure everyone talks to someone each day.
I make sure to give a smile and thanks to everyone working in stores, they are really getting burned out but are doing their best to keep up with the madness.

I'd like to see a thread started here for those that have tested positive. Narrative about how they think they contracted it. What they are being told to do to defend themselves and others. Etc.

I'm sure the holier ones would try to trash it. But maybe before they did we could get some solid, first hand information.

If you are reading this and have tested positive will you consider starting a thread?

I think the elastic bands degrade over time. I think I read that's what happened to some of the governments reserve.

That's a very good article that confirms the great working relationship with the POTUS and his Staff. Confirms that they have a strong, good working relationship and are effectively dispersing to the American people the situation.

We will visit our neighbor in a few hours for a "recharge" as we always get a lot of laughs together.

Good friend called me this morning to report the Bunn Coffee Machine factory where he works sent everyone home this morning. A employee reported testing positive. I'm guessing they have 350 employees per shift, two shifts. Pretty dramatic in a town of 15,000. Chaos until Bunn gets guidance on what to do.

I guess the question is why did you post this with no opinion either way, then take counter opinions to the first comments? My guess is you just enjoy stirring the pot, but don't want to take responsibility when the soup starts to taste bad and we have to throw it out. You enjoy conflict.

Funny how "we" only targets certain people with certain "leanings"...

I really like your idea. It is bound to happen that some of us will get this.

Maybe have it started by one of the Moderators with a stern warning. "Anyone posting anything negative is suspended for 10 days" And allow those of us who wish to pray for those affected to do so.
