I became a grandparent this afternoon! My son and wife delivered a little girl in Bend Oregon. We are debating on whether to make the drive and visit and practice SDS (Safe Distance Strategies) as soon as they are discharged. No one other than my son allowed in the hospital. What a glorious day and a great feeling that rushed over me today! Between my wife and I this makes 4 granddaughters. Still waiting for a boy.

Congrats!! What a great day for you!!

Do we have a death count of TBN members as of Fri evening the 20th?
Well it's about 12:30 EDT and no one has reported that they died and only a few that they felt sick.

Thanks Guys! I just wanted to inject some positive vibes into this room and relay some personal struggles with how to go about 'living' with/without typical family practices not just toilet paper. :D
:drink:

Oh and if my posts get a little squirrelly later on, I will blame on the finest sipping tequila I own.

Congrats! Good use of sterilizing fluid.

Now does anyone know a good place to buy bulk pinto beans?
It seems that with all the restaurants closed they should be available.

No idea on the pintos unfortunately ... I hope ya find 'em ... next to Great Northerns, they are probably my favorite bean.

Just to keep it real for anyone still in denial:

Keep in mind - despite the "happy talk" propaganda and misinformation that's being slung about - we probably still aren't testing anywhere near enough ... so the above numbers likely constitute under-reporting of what's actually out there.

Which will reduce your doom and gloom percentage to likely a 1/4 percent or less.

Probably not the one you are looking for, but read down thru the text and they have the rice & beans (which is pintos) in 5-gallon buckets available for purchase. Whether you want to donate for food bank use is optional.

Down here we have had 39 reported, no deaths. the govt is only letting in Kiwis returning home. Prior to that anyone coming in had to selfquarentenee for 14 days. An Asian couple came in and ignored it, the locals called the cops and they were deported. Yesterday a helicopter pilot on a scenic flight found that two of his passengers had only arrived Monday and were touring so on the way back he landed right outside the cop shop. It is expected they will be deported.

WOW! That hasn't been reported over here, and I regularly watch Sky News.

I talked to my brother yesterday. He and his family live in Switzerland. He thinks they are a couple of weeks farther along than us. He and his wife have retreated from their house in the city to a cabin in the mountains. I guess if you have to stay home it is better to be at a home with a view.

Love TN

When I retired it was on my short list of places to move to. But with family in Canada and MI it was tough to do. Love my rural place in MI and I do not mind the snow and cold too much yet.

Beautiful place you have.

I keep hearing all the talk about lack of testing and lack of test kits and can't understand why that's being made into such a big issue. There's no specific treatment for Covid-19, so why does it matter if it's specifically diagnosed? If you fall ill (regardless of what it's from), a doctor or hospital is going to treat to ease whatever symptoms have presented themselves and are causing distress, whether it's high fever, respiratory distress, sore throat etc.

Other than knowing if it's a bacterial (so antibiotic treatments can start) or viral ailment, does it really matter? Am I missing something?

Here in Portugal, we've been having a 25 to 30% increase in Covid cases per day. It's now 12AM, that time of the day we got an update on the official numbers and it slightly reduced to a 20% increase, which doesn't mean much yet.

This is a small country (10M people), so numbers are small but still alarming when you see irresponsible people everywhere not respecting the quarantine requests from the Government.

We're are 1280 confirmed Covid cases, 9854 unconfirmed cases, 12 Deaths and 5 fully recovered.

Numbers. The numbers matter. Everyone is assuming a high mortality rate because of the available numbers, which are most likely wrong due to a lack of comprehensive testing. The more 'minor' cases identified, the ones that show fewer or no serious effects, the faster that magic number will drop and the sooner the hysteria will end.

Yeah, what you're missing is that people with the virus should isolate themselves from those without. If you're "just ill", then you can still do the normal stuff with some precautions like you'd take with a cold. If you have COVID-19, then you REALLY should be fully quarantined so you don't give it to me.

Further, your county health officials will want to know who you've had contact with in the days before testing positive. If I shook hands with you a day before you tested, then the county will let me know so I don't go and prepare dinner for my elderly parents.

Right on!

Unfortunately, there lots of people that still can't quite understand that.

CNH Industrial just announced a shutdown for two weeks.

In Spain, they are already choosing between who lives and who dies. Pretty much like Italy had to do.

They started shutting stuff down here a week ago, so will be another week before you see the results of that. Stay home.
