We have around 355 'cases' here in Michigan but all are in Wayne and Oakland counties which interestingly is where the concentration of population is in Michigan, with I think 3 deaths.

A few days ago Texas and Michigan were just about tied. This will be interesting to see if the virus will progress faster in a cooler State. Our official State Health department count updates at noon every day. News Updates There are 7 in my county now.

As of 5 PM tomorrow Illinois is going into a shelter at home order, all businesses that are non essential most close until at least April 7. This shuts down my lawnmower repair business and leaves me without any revenue coming in to pay the company bills, or personal income to pay my household bills.

Down here we have had 39 reported, no deaths. the govt is only letting in Kiwis returning home. Prior to that anyone coming in had to selfquarentenee for 14 days. An Asian couple came in and ignored it, the locals called the cops and they were deported. Yesterday a helicopter pilot on a scenic flight found that two of his passengers had only arrived Monday and were touring so on the way back he landed right outside the cop shop. It is expected they will be deported.

Some friends of ours in Rwanda wrote to say that the country had closed the airport, nobody in or out. So I checked on what is happening in Africa. In a nutshell, many countries are shutting the doors especially to Europe and the US.

Interesting isn't it? Europe and NA are usually closing their doors to some horrible African plague. This time they are in danger from us. I guess turn about is fair play.

The government instructions to date are like a light switch, on or off. The notion that this can go on for weeks or months is loony. And not likely to succeed either. Intermediate practices, that eliminate transmission possibilities, while preserving the business ability to operate, are no doubt possible. Who knows if the governments will ever think of more nuanced directives.
