If anybody has specific questions, let me know and I'll ask the product manager at Kubota. He's a great guy, very enthusiastic about the product and very knowledgeable too.

"Electric fuel injection". Here was me always thinking EFI stood for electronic fuel injection. Wonder whether it means something (other than someone who doesn't have English as a first language did the stickers)?

Ha Ha! We've had this machine for a few weeks now and I didn't even notice. My brain automatically read this as "Electronic".

My dealer recently received their first RTV-XG850 Sidekick.

It's the "Special" (black, aluminum wheels, etc.) version.

I have a RTV-X1100C and am not in the market but I had not seen one so I looked it over.

It's an 850 cc twin DOHC 4 cycle water cooled engine producing 48 HP. Brochure says it will make 40 MPH, which is about twice what my 1100C will do (not that I care). It weighs in at about 1,760 Lbs.

I'm a bit surprised that it's carbureted as many (most? all?) of the competition is fuel injected.

It's a nice looking machine.

Anyone have one?

You sure it's carbs, mine is fuel injected.... It's a Subaru FI twin. Ours runs just fine. Wife bought it and had it fully farkled up. Winch, bed lift, fold down windshield, roof, mirrors work lights, skid plates and a payment book...lol Orange of course.

Make sure your seat belt is fastened. These units have a safety feature that limits performance if the seat belt is not fastened.

Yep. The speed is limited to 9 mph or less with the seat belt is unlatched (drivers side). Over 9, it will stutter. Of course the 'workaround' is fasten the belt behind the seat but I wear mine 'cause I'm an old fart anyway.

Mine goes 44 mph and gets there real quick too. In 2wd, it spins the tires on take off, no issue. We take it uptown all the time. here in Michigan, with DOT approved tires, turn signals, mirrors and ORV sticker (and SMV triangle) they are considered legal for use on secondary roads.
