It's too bad it takes headline grabbing sensationalism to wake people up...

...In a non reactionary world we are often subject to a herd mentality....

That's what's crashing the markets and clearing store shelves. It's causing an epidemic of stupidity.

We could probably do with a lot less 'headlines'.

How do you cook that? In a stew? Or roast it?
I've heard of people broiling them over an open campfire. Generally you need lots of alcohol to make them palatable though.

I have read that they are saying that face masks are not useful. But here is the thing when I see pictures of infectious disease teams they are all wearing face masks. May be a moot point anyway as the local newspaper says face masks of any sort are sold out here and i noticed they are mostly sold out on Amazon. As for the stock market. I thought it was pretty over heated before any of this pandemic stuff came along so a correction was likely anyway. Looks like face mask makers and hand sanitizer and vaccine makers could be plays.

I'd like to see people grow up, not over react and stop posting tabloid 'sky is falling' hooey.

For once I agree with Diggin It :). Morbidity (death) and mortality (illness) will vary dramatically from country to country. This is because public/private health infrastructure are so different. In addition, population patterns are also different (# people per mile, etc). There are many variables to consider. We will not know true morbidity/mortality as it applies to the US until it gets to the US. NEJM speculates the morbidity could be on par with other common viruses. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2002387. Stop reading the news and only look at CDC or a reputable medical journal website.

Exactly. Wonder if I can sell the Brooklyn Bridge to the sky is falling crowd? Or tinfoil hats?

If you ascribe to the mainstream media, of course the sky is falling. It 'falls' everyday according to them and they love that BS. I guess being gullible sheeple is all about living in this country. In my case, I don't buy into the hyperbole.

What I've read is the mask contains your own sneeze droplets, so it reduces risk to others. But additionally you need eye protection to protect you from others' sneezes.

At the risk of sounding like the politics police;

Let's try this again. Hopefully we can keep this one going.

I'm not a "News Hound". I keep up with this topic here on TBN. Some very intelligent and investigative men have contributed to this topic. I'd like to continue to benefit from their knowledge and research.

Any updates today?

It sure seems to me that these cases called community spread are actually where someone in that community is not admitting to travel to a heavily infected location. Seems to me people should be made liable for recreational travel to certain countries when they bring back the virus and expose everyone on the airplane, airport, etc.

Do you think there should be some sort of liability for doing just that? Actually hold someone responsible for spreading the disease?

For recreational (optional) travel to these areas? Yes I do. Traveling just to see your family or whatever during this crisis is not a responsible thing to be doing.

This virus specifically? No because it is no more deadly than others we in the US consider commonplace. Not to mention it is difficult to confirm and many have no idea they are infected. They might have gone to eat somewhere and picked it up.

Should we have liability for those that dont get a flu shot?

These areas? The problem is in many cases it has already spread to an area before the advisory goes out. With COVID-19, it is in quite a few countries already. Even here in CA/OR. Hard to define these areas, and at what point in the morbidity curve (ie # sick) where travel to a given area would make you liable.
