Good morning!!!!

Good morning. It's 70° this morning, going up to 72° by 10 a.m. then, after the cool front passes, falling to low 50's by afternoon. It doesn't look like much of a rain event though.

I pushed down several dead trees yesterday, with the big tractor so, I'm ready to start some new burn piles. I need to cut down a few cedars to put on the bottom of the burn pile first. I still have two to burn and hope to get to them this weekend, if the winds stay calm.

David ... glad to hear your power system is all back on line.

WNG ... good luck with you log splitter. Mine is 3-point model ... powered by tractor hydraulics. I've got a large pile to get split. All our wood use is outside ... 2 fire pits and a chiminea. The fireplaces in the house are both direct-vent gas.

DABSGT & David ... very nice new trucks.

Drew ... a sweet potato "free for all". Sounds like "fun".

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend.

Prayers to all.

Thanks for the ideas on my wood splitter refusing to start. It is finicky. I probably flood it at times, since I cannot tell if the primer bulb is pumping gas...so I take out the spark plug, dry it, and pull some more. I tested spark, and it was okay. Finally after 30 more pulls, I took off the air cleaner and sprayed starter fluid...two more pulls and it started just fine. But some days it starts after just one or two pulls. I always let it run until it runs out of gas, and use treated gas. Can only find 10% ethanol around here...no 0%. .

Try the Pure-Gas website for help finding E0 Wng. Even though you're not leaving ethanol laced gas in the tank, it still attacks the fuel lines and other rubber and plastic parts in the engine and fuel system. Sometimes that creates bits of rubber that can clog carb jets. And I've seen jets blocked with a clear deposit that would pass light, but not a fine wire. Could also be that the permanent magnet rotor in the magneto has lost its magnetism. It'll fire a plug laying on the cylinder head just fine, but once installed, the spark is too weak to jump the gap under compression. Could also be the float needle is sticking in its seat; they get a notch worn into the taper of the needle that works very well to stop the flow of fuel, but doesn't want to come back out of the seat.

The Subaru engine on my Ariens splitter has been sitting empty now for five years, so I'll be going down that same path in a little while trying to get it going again. Not looking forward to it.

Since I started treating ALL of my "ethanol contaminated" gasoline, with Stabil Marine 360, about 5 years ago ... I've virtually eliminated all issues.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 6:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
Chances of rain are improving for next week, at least according to the 10-day forecast. Larger amounts each day, too. But back to sunny a week from Sunday.

Nice tidy installation, David. I hope it meets all of your generation goals, and that those batteries far exceed their warranty period.

Found the seals I'd purchased a long while ago for the latches on the sliding windows on the van, and got them installed. Also found a source for the felt seals between the windows, but they say the windows have to come out of the van to replace the felt.:banghead: There's a pretty good auto glass store in town, so I'll swing by there today and see what they have to say, as I have yet to find a place to buy replacements for the rubber seals inside the window frame. The holes VW drilled into the vent wing windows (remember those?) were also leaking, so I used a little silicon seal on those yesterday, too.

Also installed replacement rubber pads on the brake and accelerator pedals. It was a lot easier after they sat a minute in boiling water. Then carved up a little plastic cup holder so it would fit over the shift lever, and epoxied six pounds of lead into the underside so it would stay put without having to screw it down. I hate putting holes in the floor, especially after welding up so many that somebody else put there and left open. And I finished the sound deadening install over the cargo area floor. Still have the side walls and doors to do, but the Barge cement isn't due in for another week. Used some double face tape to try out the relay on the shift linkage to spoof the neutral position switch, and got it working intermittently, probably because the tape was letting the two parts move around too much. Nothing some sheet metal screws and zip ties won't cure, so that's on the agenda for today. Then a town run for some heater hose and groceries.

Got an email late last night with lots of attachments from the new solar guy, and I'm hoping there's enough info there so I can get the building permit application updated and submitted this morning.

TGIF gang!:drink:

That's good to know, Rick, because I have a quart jug of the stuff on the shelf, ready to treat the next batch of fuel.

Do you leave the treated gas in the tanks, or run 'em dry when you're finished?

Good morning heading to low 50's today with rain.
Stuffed pork roast was a hit at my daughter's work event yesterday and as planed after dropping it off I stopped at John Deere dealer needed to pick up some pins to mount the snow plow, started talking with owner and left with a Lionel John Deere train set for my grandsons and left forgetting the pins.
David congrats on the new truck

Good morning! 50˚F cloudy north wind, heading your way Rick. High today only 58˚F.
Good day to make a carrot cake with lemon icing. (no eggs, no oil, no dairy) Just carrots, ground oatmeal, pureed dates, pineapple, almond milk, & spices.
Oh, Found a cardiologist in the area since we moved and had an appointment yesterday just to get established after a two years of no appointments. He check me over and labs and said that since I am already plant based that he does not have to give me that lecture, in fact when he said he had gone plant based 8 months ago we had a real good conversation on recipes and Dr. Greger. NutritionFacts.org | The Latest Nutrition Related Topics The 12 lead EKG was perfect and could not detect any heart damage from the heart attack 8 years ago. He said see you next year to compare notes again.

Haircut today.

Drove for first time yesterday since my GBS. Did ok for short distance, about 20 min.

Son flies home tonight, have midnight pickup at airport.

48° , turned off pellet stove last night, was too warm.

Corel Video studio had a $20 offer so I updated it last night, took a long time to download. It’s great video editing SW for the price. My last version was 2013. My son uses it to put together his train videos. I use it to convert my old camcorder dvds to mp4 video. Also great for removing bad video sections.
