Good morning!!!!

I bought $50 worth of batteries and I thought that was a lot!

Up to 51 from 46 just after midnight. Periods of rain and 50s today.

Got a little seat time yesterday, I finished leveling where the sinkhole was, took another 1/4 yd or so of dirt. Removed some old stumps and dug a hole to bury some roof shingle that were scattered in edge of the woods when I moved here. Guy buried them about 6” deep. I dug down about three feet, now I just have to move them.

Hope you all have a great day. God bless.

Poured first cup of coffee. Waiting for it to cool a little. 34° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with partly cloudy skies. Rain and wind came as forecast yesterday. Lot of leaves were blown off limbs. Will have to wait and see if I can get out and mulch them today or tomorrow. No other plans.

David and DAGSGT good looking trucks.

LS, talked to son yesterday while he was trucking through Albuquerque. Only rain while he was driving.

Good Morning All.

Yes, have a Leer cap on order. Impressed that they called next day asking for Ridgeline vin to get best paint match. About 5 weeks to get.

Still shuddering at cost - what we do for the furry ones.

You've got that right. When my old 4Runner got rear-ended and totaled, I went to the dealer to get a Tacoma...just for fun looked at the Tundra, and saw how huge the back seat floor area was with the seats folded up on the crew cab, and knew Coco would like that so much more. (I must admit, after taking an ambulance ride to the hospital after the wreck, I was also excited about how much more mass the Tundra had.

I致e had dish for 22 yrs now. I own my equipment, no rental. Last time my receiver went out I called them, they let me add the maintenance backdated, then sent me a replacement receiver. I should have then dropped the maintenance, as by now I paid for that replacement one with maintenance fees.

We've had Dish for 21 years, been extremely happy with them. We used our owned receiver for the first 18 years until we went the DVR route. The installer was so impressed when he saw it working, like it was a Model T or something.

good morning all.
Warmer day today, 46 going up to 66.
First thing hook up one ton trailer to truck, then down to food pantry, pick up three others, and off we go to a small church 35 miles away where 22 tons of sweet potatoes are to be dumped in what I think are two paved basketball courts near the church. And everyone is invited. This could be a serious zoo....going to put several carts in trailer in case we can't park anywhere close. I told pantry head my job was truck, trailer and carts, they needed folks with a better back than mine to pick up potatoes.
but I'll help of course, and likely regret it tomorrow. And my job is also to take pictures, this I can do.

David, congrats on getting the new truck home. Looks like everyone is happy with it.
Expensive month, huh?...

Good morning.
The temp is 25°F and headed for a blistering high of, wait for it......28F. Wind NW 28 gusting to 39 mph. Snow!
The snow that is coming is nothing to 'write home about', only about an inch, but it is a start.

I've got nothing planned for today. A good day to conserve energy. All of my outside jobs are done. Firewood inside. Roads in the snow made to the snow dumps. I've started packing the Township ditch full of snow. (I will pack that down hard enough that I can drive the tractor on it and not sink.)

For all of 2019, so far I have only used 50 gallons (Imperial) of fuel, so that doesn't warrant getting a separate 500 gallon fuel tank for the tractor, yet.

Eric can probably relate to this one better: today is POETS day, Piss Of Early Tomorrows Saturday.:D

Have a good day all

I own the 722 dvr. Dish was after me for yrs to pay extra for HD programming and I wouldn’t. I knew eventually they would make it standard, which they did. I also own a 312 SD receiver that I carry on my account. I used an older dish antenna I had and installed it at the farm so dad can have dish also.

I looked at direct tv once, they will only rent the equipment. Plus they insist that they install it, which I don’t want.

49 going to 55 then rain.

Nice to see some new trucks...real nice looking, DABSGT and David.

Eric, perfect signage to go under David's Smoke Free Zone sign. David, I am impressed with all you do to live off the grid, but it does sound like a lot of work and expense that most of us take for granted every time we flip the light switch.

Jay, I like your ideas to avoid snacks. I usually get hungry before my wife is ready for dinner, so I've been making hot tea each evening for a couple of years to try to avoid snacking. I found some really nice tea blends from one of the suppliers where I buy green coffee beans.

Thanks for the ideas on my wood splitter refusing to start. It is finicky. I probably flood it at times, since I cannot tell if the primer bulb is pumping gas...so I take out the spark plug, dry it, and pull some more. I tested spark, and it was okay. Finally after 30 more pulls, I took off the air cleaner and sprayed starter fluid...two more pulls and it started just fine. But some days it starts after just one or two pulls. I always let it run until it runs out of gas, and use treated gas. Can only find 10% ethanol around here...no 0%.

Went hunting in southern Virginia yesterday. Part of trip was down Interstate 95...always fun to see the RVs heading south this time of year, and something that many of you probably haven't seen unless you have similar migrations in your area...18-wheeler Car carriers full of a mix of very nice autos, all with New York license plates...taking them to Florida so the owners can fly down for the winter and have their car ready. Amtrak runs a special auto train that does the same thing.

46 degrees this morning, forecast to go as high as 48. NWS says Denton got .01" of rain before midnight and .06" since. It's not raining now and I just found about .26" in my gauge, but with rain on it's way apparently.

The auto train is very expensive, or it was a few years back when my late wife and I looked into it.
