That is exactly the configuration I like. I pull/lift from the center to maintain balance and use the grab on either side depending on where I am standing to secure the chain. Nice job!

Since I can't weld, I went with the old Bolt-on Hooks from Ken.

As Dale stated, above, Ken's Bolt on Hooks. They are very easy to install because you are talking to someone that is mechanically challenged. My wife hates it when I try to start a project cause it always cost her more money than just having a professional come in and do it.

I didn't want to drill holes and possibly weaken the structure. One or two holes seems like the hook could twist under stress and create a bigger mess. Grab hooks are cheap, a couple of bucks a piece. If you don't have a welder, there's a fair chance that a friend, neighbor or relative does who can do it for a small fee if any at all.

Actually, the manufacturer tested the bolt-on design under various conditions and posted them online. In test #5, the hook itself spread open but the bolts, attached to typical bucket sheet metal thickness, did not fail. 12,500 lbs failure load.

If drlling a couple of 9/16 (clearance) holes weakens structure, it is to weak to be effective in beginning, whatever it is (FEL bucket) it needs to be replaced with better quality unit... Welding hooks to a questionable (structurally weak) unit has same effect on distortion of unit as bolt on items... And in my case I trust grade 8 bolts more than my welding...
