Rake Land of Pride vs ETA rakes

Hello all. New to the forum. I have a Kubota B2650 and have been researching landscape rakes. I really like the ETA rakes, but I am out of their 1000 mile shipping range. I have read a lot of posts on rakes, but have not seen any addressing rakes that allow a 360 degree spin vs only turning, say 45 degrees. I would think the ability to turn the rake backwards and PUSH would be a big advantage, like pushing gathered piles into a burn pile. LOP rakes are local for me but do not seem to offer a 180 degree spin. Is this not a very important factor when picking out a LSR? Appreciate any and all advise. Thank you.

I have a Woods landscape rake...it had reflector tabs welded on either side of the top plate that prevented a full 180* swing...SO...I cut the tabs off and swung the rake around...I used it like that (backwards) one time and after the experience I understood why it was not made to swing around backwards...

To the best of my knowledge, all of the ETA rakes will spin 360*. Don't let being more than 1000 miles be a deterrent. They have very reasonable shipping costs.

The ETA rakes are the best on the market in my opinion.

I have a Woods landscape rake...it had reflector tabs welded on either side of the top plate that prevented a full 180* swing...SO...I cut the tabs off and swung the rake around...I used it like that (backwards) one time and after the experience I understood why it was not made to swing around backwards...

Pine - thanks for your reply. Interesting and funny. I would imagine the potential to bend tines (when pushing a load) could be high depending on downward pressure in the TPH. Since the ETA rakes are made to swing around, would be safe to say their rakes have been engineered to operate that way?? It would seem to be a maneuver that needs to be carefully, yet the thought of contacting an immovable object (large rock or stump) while backing up does not conjure up any warm or fuzzy feelngs...

I am the owner of a ETA Landscape Rake and a Ratchet Rake bucket attachment.

I agree with MtnViewRanch: The ETA rakes are the best on the market.

For everything except windrowing I find the Ratchet Rake easier to use and faster. Having the rake forward is much better than having the rake in the rear.

I was 'pushing up' my hot burn pile not fifteen minutes ago.

I think it largely has more to do with the application...I honestly can't recall what I was attempting with the rake backwards but I do remember saying to myself "I won't be trying that again" and thought I realized why 'Woods' had made it that way...welding the reflector tabs back on is still on a to-do list...

Just got off the phone with ETA. $185 shipping to Sacramento, CA. Not bad. However, they currently have a 12 week backlog of orders... Extreme Ugh...

We go out of our way to make many parts which would be easier and cheaper to import and, what we don't make, we try to source from US companies.
