LOL. I had all four in the trap before it sprung. They must be lighter than air. LOL.

Good luck with the effort. Maybe some WD40 is in order.

I’d be careful with lubricants. The smell could repel your target.

I use one of those green Scotch Brite scrubber pads on the trap parts that have to slide by each other to close.

I have WD-40, but usually use Ballistol. It has much much more pleasant aroma.

It would be more than a little ironic if a lube smell scared off a skunk. It's a relatively new trap, so I probably just need to make sure it's set to a hair trigger.

I give mine a good pressure washing several times a year.

My biggest catch was a mama raccoon and two babies, last year.

Well WD40 was a poor choice of products.

Usually anything AG related, around here, gets a corn oil, or veggie oil treatment. But my traps, have not come under the "tripping" issues of late. So I cannot say that would do the trick. Probably a bit sticky afterwards.

Keep us posted! Good luck.

Good morning! High seventies to to high nineties and beyond for the next week. We are on the dry side of the tropical storm so dry hot winds from the NE are expected. My cucumbers are not doing well in the heat and may be finished by next week. They are wilting even though they are drip irrigated twice a day and are in the shade in the afternoons, just too hot. Okra, peppers and eggplants are still producing.

Buckeye I hope they figure out soon what is wrong and give you a pill (with no side effects) to make it all better otherwise you will have to go on a plant based diet - There, the thought of that ought to shock you enough to get well.:D

Plans for today are all pending a call from the pipeline intervention guy for a meeting. They switched company negotiators on me because they considered me difficult. I am. I'm not negotiating for myself, but for Mom, so hopefully the push for items on the agreement favorable to the grantor of the right-of way will be approved. The extra 20 items will not be approved but I'm hoping for half of them before they just take the land in court and give a dismal amount compensation. My cousin a few miles away has already hired a Lawyer. The company is on schedule to start laying 30" pipe by September. They have already been approved by the state and have their permits and eminent domain authority.

Eminent domain... works well and sounds nice till it hits your own back yard. I'd be very hard pressed to let someone pass through my patch of land.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

I ran the A/C all night last night due the humidity and warm temperature. A humid 67ºF for today’s low temperature, a humid 79ºF presently, and I anticipate a humid, low 80ºF’s for today’s high temperature. Walked Brogen and string trimmed a tankful of fuel along the driveway/roadside before taking a break….. More string trimming planned; a lot more.:(

Eric- Thanks for sharing the wildflower pictures. I should have taken a picture or 2 of the wildflowers growing in the upper “lawn” before I mowed them down. Wifey is not very happy at the moment.:(

BEF- Hospital living gets old fast. :( I truly hope that 4 days of IV treatment will result in a cure for what is ailing you. Hang in there.

Randy- I hope things continue to improve and look forward to seeing you posting again.

“… Roasted coffee yesterday...have roasted 39 lbs on this new roaster and am really liking it.”- Billy I grind fresh beans every morning, but have yet to evolve to roasting my own. I might get there.

Drew- Good luck with the RV research/acquisition. Wifey and I toyed with the idea briefly. It’s like having a big boat on wheels.

Don- Good luck with the negotiations. There is nothing wrong with strong advocacy especially so since you’re negotiating for Mom.

RNG- Good luck with the tractor research; more luck with the allergist.

Paul- Good luck with the skunk(s).

Thomas- Congratulations on your retirement notice. My condolences for your supervisors/superiors. You have plenty to do after retiring.

David- Good luck getting back into your normal daily activities.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day and has a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
