Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Thanks. I ended up not taking any chances and went with a quality unit from Vortexx, with the Honda GX390 13 horse and 4GPM 4,000 psi AR pump. Picked it up yesterday and used it for about an hour. Big difference between the consumer 3000 psi 2.5 gpm big box store pressure washers and this professional series unit. I paid dearly for it though... it will get lots of use.

I bought a similar powered 4000 psi PW, with the same Honda engine, at Sam's a few years ago. I mounted it on a HF 40" x 48" trailer so I could use it all over the ranch.

That is so true. A due pro grade machine is NOTHING like the consumer machines. A little pricey up front but should last most people most of their life.

How very true. I also bought a 4000 psi commercial unit with a commercial Honda 390 and, while expensive, is worth. I can actually blow most of the rust off of old farm equipment and do it in half the time of a lesser washer. Cleaning concrete is no problem. For farm tractors or more sensitive things I just get different nozzles to drop the pressure down. 1500 psi cleans engines and keeps the decals attached. 4000 psi would blow decals clean off. Yup, I've done it.

I don't know if they do or don't, but I stocked up on the new style batteries today using the 30% off items under $10 coupon, usable for five items. One AA 8 pack, one AAA 8 pack and one each of the rechargeable 4 packs.

Thanks to the positive feedback here, I bought one of the cordless pole saws. We have lots of oak trees in five or six varieties, and are slowly getting them limbed up to 8' off the ground. This little electric does a great job, and the battery life is amazing. The included Oregon chain is the icing on the cake.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but their assortments are good to have on hand - o-rings, retaining rings, grease fittings, roll pins, etc.
California's thread on the frozen brake rod reminded me how vital it is to have some common components on hand so you won't be stymied by a simple little thing.

Not HF related but I just got a nice helicoil kit on ebay for under $30. Five metric sizes with drills and taps and enough inserts to do over 100 holes.

Recently picked up two HF predator 3500 inverters. As A test I set one up to run our 14k BTU window AC unit. It ran two hours Monday, then it ran it a full 10 hours yesterday before finally running out of fuel.

12 hours at 35-40% load on 2.5 gallons of fuel and couldn't even hear it inside the house.

Going to take both and the 50 amp parallel kit out to the camper and see how they do with both AC units and both fridges on

I've been eye-balling one of them thanks for the review.

My little Johnny needs the engine replaced. Drive belt on my Craftsman failed. Tired of balancing little tractors on little bottle jacks and jack stands. Needed something better. Shopped around for mower lifts. Lowes, Home Depot, TSC, couple other local tool supply places, all had various units at widely varying prices. Checked out the Ye ole Harborer of Freight and learned they sell TWO styles. One is Pittsburgh branded for a hundred bucks. It is built light with tiny little wheels to move it around, just like all the MoJack and others at other places. The other is branded FISCHER and is listed at $200. It is built better than the best of the best $500 models in other stores and has nice 6" solid wheels on it. Checking the super coupons, they list FISCHER as a brand you cannot use the super coupons on. Checked the coupon database and found coupon 49357624 that gives $30 off until the beginning of August 2019.

EDIT* I bought it, assembled it, and used it. I'm perfectly satisfied and certain I've never seen a better built mower lift from anywhere.

Same here.

One of the two came out of the box with a crushed wheel. Called HF and they said bring it back and exchange so I did.

Then about 3 hours in one that had been sitting with a half tank of fuel I hadn't added stabil too started up and was rough idling. Kept surging. Called them and they said no problem, run it dry on fuel and bring it back for a new one.

From all the reviews I read some can have quirks at the get go but HF is great about replacing/exchanging them if they have any initial issues. Other than that they are great. One guy I saw has been using two to power his food truck and has almost 3k hours on each. Replace spark plugs and clean spark arresters every few hundred hours and good to go

That's the essence of the HF experience: Prices are low because final quality control testing is left to the customer, instead of being performed before shipment. As for the customer ... well you need to have a sense of humor.

I'll take the two extra trips to HF for two higher powered inverters for $600 less than one honda 3000iu inverter

He's getting TWO for $600 less than the price of ONE. So he has a complete spare AND $600 to spend on something like fuel, or even a replacement warranty if there are issues with one. Who needs parts when you have a spare generator to put in place while you exchange the failed one at the local store? I'd personally opt for redundancy over part availability.

Not to mention that there are reviews with over 3000 hours and running on the quiet inverter ones. They sound extremely encouraging if you scout the internet looking for testimonial. I just out cash down to get a new Coachmen Apex Ultra Lite camper in 28' floor plan, I'm already positive that it will be getting the larger HF inverter generator.

Last week I bought the Lynxx pole saw and chainsaw. I am very impressed with both.
