56°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 82° today.
I honestly can't recall what I did for most of the day on Saturday, but I remember being busy all day. :confused3: Took The Wife and her youngest and his girlfriend to dinner Saturday evening at
The Lemp Mansion Restaurant in St. Louis, just across I-55 from the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Dinner was delicious, and the staff was exceedingly friendly and polite. It was a magnificent dining experience. We were celebrating - albeit a few weeks late - Samuel's and Samantha's (Sam-Sam) birthdays, which are both in March. We were finally able to get everyone together this weekend.
Noticed while walking to the barn Sunday morning that we have a new neighbor. One of the neighbors horses was strutting around showing off her new foal. She's a very proud momma.
Spent Sunday morning burning a line of leaves along the lower driveway. They'd gotten quite wet from the recent rains, and burned rather slow and smokey.
Got the grass mowed in the afternoon, and it only took about 3 hours. Still can't mow the area between the lake and the road, as it's been a marsh land for a couple of weeks now. Be glad to get that sorted out this year with a new rip-rapped drainage path to the ditch.
Eric, places like Gear4Music are indeed like a musician's drug dealer. On this side of the pond, we have Musician's Friend / Guitar Center and Sweetwater, as well as a few others. I both love and hate when those new catalogs arrive in the mail. Wife always gives me that jaundiced look when she hands them to me.
David, I remember when Royce Gracie took the then-new world of UFC by storm. No one seemed to have any answers to his system. It was brilliant in it's simplicity, as all the great effective fighting styles have been through history.
Roy, I may have to look into bar tires for our ZTR. We have a few places around the property, especially along the lake bank, that could definitely benefit from better traction. Thanks for the heads-up.
