April is for us traditionally a month of unpredictable rain showers. No problems with today's prediction though, the sun is going to be shining again all day long. This warm weather has coincided with the arrival of the swallows, which I am sure is no accident. The only unknown is what they are going to splash on their bombing runs today - time to put the umbrella up over the outside table.

CWB, I was intrigued by your picture of mount Tokewonna and the area you live in, so had a look on Google's aerial map. That looks a really rugged place. The few places of flat ground up in Wyoming showed up lots of green circles, which after a bit of searching, look to be motorised irrigation sprinklers, not something seen in this country. I have been spending breakfast learning a little about these and the challenges in their design, such as how to keep the boom in a straight line with so many different driving wheels and how the spray nozzles have to deliver different amounts of water according to how far they are from the centre of the pivot. Anyone on here get involved with these ? Always new things to learn on Good morning.

Kyle, turning down a 9.5 in your late thirties was a real act of faith in the future. Glad it paid off and you found your 10.

Happy Easter everyone! 53 right now going to 65. Looks like drizzle for a start then partly cloudy the rest of the day. Finishing second cup of coffee. Today will be a rest day, small get together with family. Need to relax all the sore muscles from moving my sister to a new location. That furniture gets heavier and heavier as the years go on. Time for the next generation to step in. Prayers and good wishes for all!

34 °F and going to 57. Wind W 7 mph. It is going to be a partly sunny day.

A good day to polish another rim. Maybe I will find my lambs wool mitt and give them all a good going over. You are not supposed to use a power buffer with this polish.

When the kids were little there was always an Easter egg hunt at home. I hid them after getting good and blitzed. Sometimes some of the eggs didn't get found right away. I know, they weren't good for the kids, but Easter pan eggs (pure sugar) is what they and I liked. The only rule was that there would be NO eggs in the bathroom. Even a hog will not do his/her business where he/she eats.

Poured first cup of coffee. 43° with a bright Easter Moon this morning. Heading to 68° with mostly cloudy skies. Got .85" of rain yesterday. That should get grass growing. Son and his family are coming over for Easter breakfast.

Kyle, if I bought a mid engine Vette I would have to take it out to every car show on a dry day. Then make a few runs up and down the Woodward Dream Cruise. Maybe scoot around to visit a few TBN members. The miles would just keep adding up. I doubt if I will be around here another 30 years. To enjoy a stored 30 plus year old classic Vette. My son cannot resist driving his 2010 Shelby Mustang. It now has 2000 miles.

51 right now...high in the upper 60's and a little more rain...which we definitely don't need. Some of the lower areas of Bethel are flooded now, including Bethel Mills, which is supposed to be one of the oldest lumber yards in the United States.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. With the ground wet, it would probably be a good day to continue running the aerator over the lawn.

Old lumberyards were near rivers to move the logs, first wife's family owns the oldest lumberyard in US, I think 1780 something and still open six days a week. And floods terribly when the Delaware River overflows.
What a mess to clean up, mud everywhere, everywhere, dead animals. Floods are bad news.

Much cooler day today. Still nice weather for egg hunts and family picnics. All good.
Watching little kids at egg hunts is one the real treats in life.

Good morning and HAPPY EASTER to all! Low only went to 45, going up to 78 today and sunny. Yesterday afternoon some strong gusty winds kicked in at around 4pm, lasted about 2 hours. I hope there's not a repeat today.

With the few showers we got last week, now warm temps, the weeds are growing what seems to be 6 inches a day! I was able to weed-wack along the driveway and front walkway. Mr knee started complaining, so that was all for the day. It's considered "home based PT". The ortho doc recommended "doing what you normally do" in order to not make range of motion more limited.....it still makes it hurt!

Today may be to try and do little bit more weed-wacking...just a little. This is the first week-wacker that I have had to last more than 2 years without having problems. It started up second pull after sitting for 7 months. It has a 3 year warranty, so I anticipate the problems will start this summer as soon as the warranty expires. It is a Cub Cadet 31cc 4-stroke, came with a brush cutter head also. Paid about $125 at TSC .

I always liked 'vettes. My favorite is the '67 fastback. I could never afford one...still can't...chances are never will. Probably a good thing...If I did have one, it would surely be used to it's capabilities....then I would surely get in some sort of trouble!

Today's dinner menu is hickory smoked ham, fresh green beans, and homemade pierogis.....can't wait...pierogis are one of my favorite foods.

Eric, I have a buddy who's a mechanical engineer. I know he spent summers around Center Colorado working on the big crop circle irrigation systems. Not sure to what extent, but if you had a particular question, I could ask him. They are very popular in the Texas panhandle (North). Look at Dimmitt Texas and scroll around. Depending on when the satellite photo was done, and what crops were grown, you will see something that would even confuse an extraterrestrial.

I did get my 10! She has light brown hair with crystal blue eyes. She still weighs the same as the day we married about 18 years ago. I consider myself very fortunate.

Drew, don't be afraid to test the waters. You are not chopped liver. Just be careful. Everyone at our age is going to have some baggage.

Got a wee bit of shredding done yesterday, but it was too wet to get into some places. Took the kids on a Gator ride.

Garden is too wet to do anything. More rain coming on Wednesday. Supposed to be windy today and tomorrow.

I love vettes too. I liked the '72 and '73, but of course the latest models turn my neck every time I see one go by. My brother had a '72 that had the 454 big block. He pumped it up to about 600hp which involved a bumpy camshaft. Man, did that thing sound great standing behind it idling with the dual exhausts blowing your hair from one side to the other with liter sized "puffs".

Yeah, there's nothing like the sound of a big cam..... When my son rebuilt his jeep truck motor, it was bored out to the 401 CI and he put a tourque cam in it, don't remember the specs. He had dual 4" exhaust that exited just behind the cab. You couldn't hear yourself think, but it sure had some power! He sold that motor about 3 weeks after he put in in, then installed a Cummins turbo diesel. I'm not sure which sound I like better!

The low was 32° this morning. Yesterday was pretty cloudy and in the low 60's. The rain is supposed start this morning and rain most of the day with a high in the mid 50's. The sun is out right how.

The neighbor and I went for a ride up to the **** yesterday, the lakes is still covered with snow and ice. I also played around in the garage for awhile.

Eric ... Mount Tokewonna is in a wildness area that doesn't allow motorized travel. The only way to access it is to walk, horseback or bicycles.
I don't know much about the irrigation sprinkles. There are a few around here but most of the irrigation is done with flood irritating. About all they grow here is hay and alfalfa. Most of what is grown here is for personal use.The ones that sale it are the ones most likely to have the sprinkles.

My + thoughts, wishes, prayers, and tears for those impacted by those horrible bombing events in Sri Lanka. When religious sites and their worshipper become targets of opportunity I lose faith in humanity (again). A lot to think about and process today on our way back home. These events always bring up "my stuff" it does not matter who did what to whom.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers. I hope that everyone has a decent day today and able to safely reflect about this Season and Holidays of freedom, rebirth and renewal.
