Frank- Thanks for the + thoughts.

I have been taking it easy. Meal preparation and cooking is about the most strenuous activity that I do presently.

RonJH- Good luck with the ductwork.

Jay, good luck tomorrow, I truly hope there is good news (well as best that can be, given the situation)

Got this in the junk mail today, made me instantly think of you:

Maybe they could use the picture of your leg brace for a "before and after" or "this could happen to you" in the advertising campaign.....might increase sales......:D:confused2::eek:

Ted- Thanks. The variety and styles of ice creepers and crampons is amazing and confusing. I should become a ice creeper/crampon tester. That Falling on Ice thread and this thread have a couple of decent products that might work.

I am waiting for Amazon to stop my Buyer Beware reviews of that defective product. ;)

I am planning to "fix" and upgrade those :censored: crampons. If Wifey does not throw them away first.

I am curious as to how the PT/Rehab of the patella differs from what I experienced with my ACL tear and fractured leg rehab.

Anyone interested in one slightly used pair of low mileage, rebuilt, and upgraded crampons?

Now without a license or any paperwork... you can fly one of these: Powered Paraglider Trike Flight the Adventure - YouTube

ParaSails and UltraLights are common in my area. So are private airstrips. Sometimes a friend will drop in with the UltraLights. Usually in the summer when they see us partying. It's always a show stopper for my city folk friends. "I cannot believe that guy just landed in your front yard". Had to drive the pilots home once in a while. LOL.

Interesting visit from duct sealer sales guy. Going to get it done.

Ron, I know that some "experts" say duct cleaning is an unnecessary scam, but last March, I let my A/C company clean all the ducts, add an additional air return vent in the hall (and the necessary ductwork, of course), and replace the old, leaking filter system with a complete new return air filter system that I like more than the old one. They showed it as $875 for the duct and vent cleaning and $1,958 for the other work; total $2,833.

Of course, I kinda like to breathe clean air myself, but I especially want clean air for my wife with her advanced COPD.

I always wanted to get an ultralight or powered parasail since I was in my early twenties. I thought I would for sure after giving up riding motorcycles. Wifey saw it another way, especially after one of my fire department coworkers crashed his into some overhead wires one morning. I actually responded to the call. He was pretty bruised and beaten but survived. I made up my mind at that point that wifey was right.

My neighbor a couple of parcels away has one and flies often during the summer / good weather. Always neat to watch him take off, catch some thermals for a while, then land.

Every year they have a long distance hang-gliding competition from the top of the Sandia Mountain peak. A guy a few years ago flew his hang-glider all the way to the Texas state line, then on to Amarillo Tx., about a 250 mile flight.

Isn't crashing a ultralight how John Denver died?

A friend of mine that owns a crane rental business has been flying an ultralight for 30 years or so. He still crash lands sometimes. Once he landed in the mud flats of the Wicomico River, I went and got him with my Donzi, we strapped the craft on the bow of the boat and took it to a ramp.
